Job summary

UMC's MFG team in Singapore is seeking an RTD & Scheduling Engineer to turn factory data and algorithms into smarter, real-time manufacturing decisions. You will develop dispatching and scheduling solutions for manufacturing operations and collaborate with MFG users, IT, and cross-functional teams to translate operational needs into reliable systems.

Success means delivering practical system improvements that support timely production decisions and improve factory efficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/SE/IE or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Programming ability to develop, test, or maintain software and systems.
• SQL proficiency for querying structured data.
• Knowledge of RTD, scheduling, MES or AMHS is advantageous.
• Experience in optimization, ML, or data analytics is helpful.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing is a plus.
• Analytical mindset and collaborative communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Real-Time Dispatching (RTD) systems and rules to support factory operations.
• Lead or contribute to RTD-related projects from requirements to deployment and evaluation.
• Improve scheduling and workflows by analyzing priorities, conditions, and constraints.
• Collaborate with users, IT, and cross-functional teams to define requirements and implement solutions.
• Integrate and support MES/AMHS interfaces and system integration efforts.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot, and implement improvements for reliable operations.
• Analyze manufacturing data and develop reports or BI insights for decisions.
