Job summary

Barry Callebaut Chocolate Asia Pacific Pte Ltd is seeking a Raw Material Planner to manage ordering of raw materials and packaging for site delivery. You will work closely with Master Planners and production schedulers to support the production plan and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

The role involves coordinating with regional planners, ensuring lead-times, approving supplier invoices, and leading KPI development for supplier performance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Place orders for raw materials to warehouse (packed) and supplier (bulk).
• Maintain RM orders and communicate schedule changes to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with production schedulers on RM shortages or delays.
• Verify RM lead-times and place orders within approved lead-times.
• Collaborate with regional RM planners and sourcing to resolve missing contracts.
• Prepare short-term tank planning and communicate unloading plan to operations.
• Ensure QA and safety compliance for materials.
• Ensure RM stock does not exceed allocated factory space.
• Review and approve supplier invoices, including waiting costs.
• Analyze root causes for line stoppages and cost impacts.
• Represent Supply Chain in assigned projects.
• Use MRP to prepare call-offs from system.
• Coordinate with cocoa via OMP for internal call-offs.
• Schedule bi-weekly supplier calls to preempt supply constraints.
• Develop and manage KPIs for supplier order changes.
• Evaluate suppliers using KPI follow-up data.
• Coordinate with local Warehouse & Logistics to optimize deliveries.

Job description

Under the management of the Plant Supply Chain Manager, the Raw Material Planner will be responsible for the ordering of raw materials & packaging to be delivered at the site, e.g. packed raw materials ordered from the warehouse to the site and bulk raw materials ordered from the supplier to the site. The Raw Material Planner will work closely with the Master planners as well as the production schedulers. Additionally, the Raw Material Planner will participate in key initiatives and projects to support continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Place orders for raw materials towards the warehouse (for packed) & the supplier (for bulk) to ensure proper execution of the production schedule/plan
• Maintain raw material orders in case of adjustment in the schedule and communicate those changes with the relevant stakeholders
• Coordinate with production schedulers in case of RM shortage or delay in the delivery from supplier
• Ensure correctness of raw material lead-times and ensure that orders are placed within the agreed lead-times by continuously checking master data
• Coordinate with regional RM planners & the sourcing team in case of missing contracts at suppliers. Perform jointly a root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to avoid this from happening
• Prepare tank planning for the short term horizon and communicate unloading plan to operations
• Ensure compliance with the QA and safety regulations
• Ensure that the stock of RM does not exceed the available space assigned for it in the factory
• Follow up and approve invoices from external suppliers, especially regarding waiting costs
• Perform root cause analysis for line stoppages, unanticipated cost impacts and other situations linked to raw/packaging material availability,
• Collaborate as Supply Chain representative in the assigned projects
• Use MRP from system to prepare call offs
• Align with cocoa via OMP to perform internal call offs
• When required, install bi weekly calls with suppliers to proactively follow up on potential supply constraints
• Develop & Manage KPIs for order changes towards and by suppliers
• Supplier evaluation via KPI follow up
• Coordinate with local Warehouse & Logistics organization to plan deliveries in efficient way and minimize waiting costs
• Support on weekly local S&OE
• NCR preparation & follow up for your SKUs

About You

• 2 to 3 years experience in supply planning
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices, specifically the integrated supply planning process.
• Good understanding of the other supply planning processes focused on distribution requirements planning, raw materials planning, and scheduling
• Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
• Previous experience with SAP, OMP and Business Objects
