Job summary

Serangoon Gardens Country Club is seeking a fast and experienced Wok Chef to join our busy kitchen team. You will cook Local Delights/Pan-Asian dishes quickly on a wok, manage rush hours, and keep a spotless station while following our recipes and presentation rules.

We require 3–5 years of wok cook experience, strong wok skills, ability to work under pressure, and flexible shift availability including weekends and public holidays. Immediate start is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3 to 5 years' experience as a Wok Cook/Chef cooking Local Delights/Pan Asian food.
• Good Wok Skills: Strong knowledge of wok cooking techniques, fire control, and fast cooking speed.
• Work Under Pressure: Able to cook fast and stay calm when there are many orders.
• Shift Work: Willing to work split shifts (e.g., 9:00AM - 5:00PM / 1:30PM - 9:30PM), weekends, and public holidays based on the roster.
• Good Attitude: Hardworking, punctual, clean, and a good team player.
• Availability: Can start work immediately or very soon.

Responsibilities

• Fast Wok Cooking: Cook Local Delights/Pan-Asian dishes quickly using a wok, following our recipes and presentation rules.
• Handle Rush Hours: Cook fast and stay calm during busy lunch hours, dinner hours, and weekend crowds to serve members without long delays.
• Food Preparation (Mise-en-place): Chop, marinate, and prepare ingredients before service so your wok station is fully ready.
• Keep High Quality: Make sure every dish taste delicious and looks good every time.
• Cleanliness & Hygiene: Keep your cooking area clean and follow food safety rules at all times.
• Care for Equipment: Clean and maintain your wok, stove, and kitchen tools properly.
• Teamwork: Work well with other chefs in a polite and helpful way.
