Job summary

SBS Transit Limited is seeking a Passenger Train Operator to drive passenger trains and assist travellers across the network. The role involves delivering high-quality customer service, guiding passengers on routes and fares, and supporting people with special needs as they board and alight.

You will monitor train operations, report incidents, and ensure safety procedures are followed while working shifts that include weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum GCE 'O' Level 5 credits.
• Willing to perform shift work, including weekends and public holidays.
• Able to identify colours.
• Preferably with minimum 2 years' working experience in service or retail.
• Possess a pleasant disposition and personality.
• Good interpersonal skills with a passion to work with people.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Passenger Trains.
• Provide advice and assistance to passengers on routes, times, fares, tickets, and travel directions.
• Assist passengers with special needs in boarding/alighting safely.
• Observe equipment and irregularities, request assistance as needed.
• Ensure passengers comply with RTS Regulations.
• Communicate with OCC and passengers via train communications equipment.
• Monitor train performance and take action on irregularities.
• Deal with train defects per manuals and procedures.
• Maintain track access qualification and competency assessments.
• Handle incidents such as emergencies safely per procedures.
• Perform Emergency Train Operator duties as required.
• Perform other duties as directed by superiors.
