Job summary

PERCEPT SOLUTIONS PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a PLC Programming Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in PLC programming, control systems and troubleshooting.

The role supports development, maintenance and lifecycle management of PLCs, smart relays, I/O modules and related products at our R&D design centre. You will translate requirements into reliable PLC logic, program using IEC 61131-3 languages, and collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams across Asia to validate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automation, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of hands-on PLC programming experience in industrial automation.
• Strong proficiency in Ladder Diagram, Structured Text and Function Block Diagram.
• Ability to translate requirements into reliable PLC logic and troubleshoot across domains.
• Experience with industrial communications (Modbus TCP/RTU, industrial Ethernet, CAN).
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams and I/O specs.
• Experience with testing procedures and regression testing.
• Independent work and strong cross-functional collaboration across Asia.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, test and maintain PLC programs for product evaluation and validation.
• Translate requirements into structured control logic, sequences and alarms.
• Program using IEC 61131-3 languages (Ladder, ST, FBD).
• Develop reusable program blocks and test apps for PLCs and I/O modules.
• Configure and validate digital/analog I/O and interfaces.
• Develop and execute test plans for control logic and reliability.
• Perform regression testing after firmware/hardware changes.
• Troubleshoot PLC programs and identify root causes across domains.
• Collaborate with hardware/firmware engineers to improve product performance.
• Maintain documentation and revision histories.
