Job summary

Sunningdale Tech Ltd is a leading manufacturer of precision plastic components with a global footprint spanning Asia, Europe and the Americas. The role focuses on leading product design and development, leveraging CAE simulations, 3D printing and DFA to optimize manufacturability and performance.

The successful candidate will drive prototyping, testing and design validation while aligning with GMP-like safety and quality practices across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical/ Product Design Engineering or related field.
• Experience with 3D product design and proof-of-concept creation.
• Experience in 3D prototyping using additive manufacturing or equivalent.
• Familiarity with Plastic Injection molded parts design.
• CA E simulation exposure is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead product design and development activities, with a focus on engineering plastics performance and material behavior.
• Manage product qualification and certification processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop 3D product designs and create proof-of-concept models.
• Design, build, and evaluate prototypes using additive manufacturing (3D printing) and other prototyping methods.
• Perform hands-on 3D CAD modeling and CAE simulations to support design validation and optimization.
• Conduct functional testing and evaluation to verify product performance, reliability, and quality.
• Apply Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to enhance manufacturability, assembly efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
• Generating engineering drawing with proper GD&T and Tolerance Stack Up
• Define test requirements needed for all the designed products.
• Drive Projects with tight timeline
• Adhere to plant safety, food safety, sanitation standards and following all GMP guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Product Design Engineering / Mechatronics or related discipline.
• Familiar with 3D product design and its requirements and create proof of concepts
• Experience in 3D prototyping solution either by Additive Manufacturing or other means.
• Familiar with Plastic Injection molded parts design.
• Prior experience in CAE Simulation will be added advantages
• Have good exposure in Plastic Injection molded parts design.
• Exposure in Mechanical and Engineering Design for Process Development or Product Design or Engineering solutions.
• Competent in Engineering calculations. Familiarity with manufacturing environments and preventive maintenance practices.
• Committed to complying with all plant safety regulations, food safety standards, sanitation requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
