Job summary

DURA-METAL (S) PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a hands-on R&D Assistant Engineer to support our engineering team in turning concepts into functional prototypes and products.

You will assemble prototypes, solder, test, document findings, and help source materials while learning from experienced engineers. Strong problem-solving and teamwork are valued, and English plus Mandarin abilities help with associates.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field
• Hands-on soldering, assembling experience
• Strong problem-solving mindset
• Able to work independently and in a team
• English and Mandarin language advantageous

Responsibilities

• Assist in the assembly of prototypes, devices, and machines using technical schematics or instructions
• Provide support to engineers through soldering and other hands-on tasks
• Conduct simple performance tests or troubleshooting to ensure equipment functionality
• Perform basic inspections of parts/equipment to meet standards
• Maintain lab equipment and assist in cleaning and organizing
• Document R&D activities, test results, procedures, and findings
• Assist in procurement of materials and equipment for R&D projects while ensuring cost efficiency

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on R&D Assistant Engineer to support our research and development team in creating innovative solutions and turning concepts into functional products

What you'll do:

• Assist in the assembly of prototypes, devices, and machines using technical schematics or instructions.
• Provide support to engineers through simple tasks such as soldering work and other hands-on technical work.
• Conduct simple performance tests or troubleshooting to ensure that the equipment's are functional.
• Perform basic inspections of parts/equipment's to ensure the desired standards are met.
• Ensure that the lab equipment's or tools are properly handled and well maintained by assisting in the cleaning and organizing process.
• Assist in the documentation of R&D project-related activities, including test results, procedures, and technical findings
• Assist in the procurement of materials, components, and equipment required for R&D projects while ensuring cost efficiency

What we're looking for:

• Minimum of Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or any technical related fields.
• Basic technical background with previous hands-on experience in soldering, assembling, or similar tasks.
• An individual who possesses strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn mindset.
• Able to work confidently both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate in both English and Mandarin will be an added advantage in order to liaise with associates.
