Job summary

Our client, an established MNC, is seeking an R&D Engineer in Singapore to conduct experiments, develop formulations, and support product evaluations. You will work with customers to tailor solutions, test methodologies, and transfer technology to production while maintaining quality documentation.

The role requires a science/chemistry-related degree and hands-on experience in R&D or manufacturing. 5-day work week, 8:30am–5pm, based in Sembawang, Singapore.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Process, or a related discipline.
• Relevant working experience in R&D, laboratory, or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; problem solving and failure analysis.
• Good conceptual and technical understanding of product development processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experimental research on product compounds, including analysis and testing to investigate chemical properties and performance.
• Develop new products, test methodologies, and improve existing raw materials and formulations.
• Perform product testing and support trial run evaluations.
• Collaborate with customers during product testing and development stages to support product evaluation and application needs.
• Work closely with customers to develop application solutions that meet their requirements.
• Provide technical support to customers in a proactive and timely manner.
• Prepare and maintain quality system documentation, including test methods, process parameters, and risk assessments.
• Participate in customer development projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve technical-related issues.
• Support customer visits and certification or audit activities.
• Manage procurement of laboratory equipment, testing instruments, and related materials.
• Facilitate technology transfer to production, including grade transfers from other plants.
• Represent the department in company-wide activities and initiatives.
