Job summary

Kim Hua Construction Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based construction firm, seeks a meticulous Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial and contract management across projects. The role covers tendering, estimation, VO handling, and cost reporting.

You will interact with clients, consultants, suppliers, and the internal team to ensure profitable project delivery and successful handovers to execution. A 2–5 year track record is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of hands-on tendering, estimation, or quantity surveying experience in construction or civil engineering.
• Minimum Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• Strong command of tendering, costing, contract administration, construction methods, materials, and market pricing with ability to interpret drawings/specifications.
• Soft skills: leadership, assertive communication, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Tender & pre-contract management: review documents, prepare take-offs, cost estimates, BOQ, and tender submissions within deadlines.
• Cost estimation & value engineering: analyse project costs, prepare tender pricing and budgets.
• Supplier & subcontractor management: source, compare, negotiate quotations, maintain vendor database.
• Risk & financial administration: assess risks, handle variation orders, progress claims, and final accounts as needed.
• Client relations & business growth: liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors; pursue new opportunities.
• Project handover & coordination: support handover to execution team and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Management support: report to Contract Manager and assist with cost reports.

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Quantity Surveyor to join our team and take charge of commercial and contract management across our exciting projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tender & Pre-Contract Management: Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements; prepare accurate quantity take-offs, detailed cost estimates, BOQ, and comprehensive tender submission documents within deadlines.
• Cost Estimation & Value Engineering: Analyse project costs, recommend value engineering solutions, and prepare tender pricing and budgets.
• Supplier & Subcontractor Management: Source, compare, and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors while maintaining an up-to-date vendor database.
• Risk & Financial Administration: Assess project risks and opportunities during the tender stage, handle variation orders (VO), progress claims, and final accounts as needed.
• Client Relations & Business Growth: Act as the primary liaison with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors; follow up with existing clients to secure new projects and business opportunities.
• Project Handover & Coordination: Support the smooth handover of awarded projects to the internal execution team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Management Support: Report directly to the Contract Manager and assist with cost reports and other duties assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

• Experience: 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in tendering, estimation, or quantity surveying within the construction or civil engineering industry.
• Education:Minimum Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong command of tendering, costing, contract administration, construction methods, materials, and market pricing, with the ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications.
• Soft Skills:Strong leadership, assertive communication, and excellent problem-solving skills to manage site-wide compliance effectively.
