Job summary

Concord Electrical Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor Cum Electrical Engineer to manage variation orders for construction projects. You will review contracts, drawings, and site instructions to quantify changes and prepare detailed cost estimates for VO submissions.

You will liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors on VO negotiations, monitor status, and maintain records through final settlement. Independent, deadline-driven professionals are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Electrical Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of VO management or quantity surveying experience.
  • Experience with electrical/M&E projects an advantage.
  • Strong contract understanding and cost estimation skills.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specs.
  • Strong negotiation and documentation skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Office.
  • Experience with QS software is a plus.
  • Independent worker and deadline-driven.

Quantity Surveyor Cum Electrical Engineer

This role involves managing Variation Orders (VOs) for construction projects, including preparing, evaluating, and submitting VOs in accordance with contract requirements. You will review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and site instructions to identify variations, measure and quantify additional or omitted works, and prepare detailed cost estimates and supporting documentation. The role requires liaison with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams on VO negotiations and approvals, monitoring VO status, and maintaining accurate records until final settlement.

Key responsibilities
  • Prepare, evaluate, and submit Variation Orders (VOs) in accordance with contract requirements
  • Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and site instructions to identify variations
  • Measure and quantify additional or omitted works
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, pricing, and supporting documentation for VO submissions
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams on VO negotiations and approvals
  • Monitor the status of VOs and maintain accurate records until final settlement

  • Review electrical drawings and provide technical input to support VO submissions

About you
  • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in Variation Order (VO) management, quantity surveying, or contract administration for construction projects
  • Experience in electrical, M&E, infrastructure, or LTA projects will be an advantage
  • Good understanding of construction contracts, cost estimation, and measurement
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and documentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with QS software is an advantage
  • Able to work independently and meet project deadlines
