Job summary

Fuku is seeking a Quantity Surveyor (Carpentry) to lead cost management across carpentry and interior fit-out projects. You will review drawings, prepare quotations, and coordinate with suppliers and site teams to ensure competitive pricing and accurate cost reporting.

The role requires interpreting technical drawings, handling multiple ongoing projects, and maintaining meticulous cost records. Short notice availability is a plus, with benefits including performance pay and medical allowance.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Previous working experience as a Quantity Surveyor is required.
  • Able to interpret construction or technical drawings.
  • Comfortable working with quantities, measurements, and project costing.
  • Good coordination and communication skills.
  • Able to manage several ongoing projects and work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in carpentry, interior fit-out, or renovation projects is an advantage, but not required.
  • Candidates who are available to commence work at short notice will be preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project costing from initial quotation through to project completion.
  • Review drawings and project requirements to determine quantities, materials, and overall cost.
  • Prepare quotations and pricing for carpentry and interior fit-out works.
  • Obtain and assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Work closely with the project and site teams on cost-related matters throughout the project.
  • Track project expenditure and highlight potential cost overruns.
  • Assess variations and prepare the necessary cost breakdowns and supporting documents.
  • Prepare and submit progress claims, and follow up on payment matters where required.
  • Verify supplier and subcontractor claims against completed works and agreed pricing.
  • Assist with project closing, cost reconciliation, and final account matters.
  • Maintain proper records of quotations, claims, variations, and other commercial documents.
