Job summary

LIH MING PTE. LTD. is seeking a capable Quantity Surveying/Procurement professional to manage progress claims, subcontracting, and cost control.

You will liaise with project teams, prepare documents, and procure materials ensuring timely delivery. Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD required; Diploma in Building/Construction or QS is essential.

The role emphasizes accuracy, contract drafting, and stakeholder communication to support project budgets.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Building/Construction or Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
  • Certifications related to quantity surveying or procurement are advantageous.
  • Experience in contract drafting, procurement and administration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and checking progress claims to Clients and from Sub-Contractors, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual terms.
  • Guiding and following up on subcontracting works, including evaluating subcontractor performance, managing variations, and resolving related issues.
  • Liaising with the Project Department to provide monthly cost reports, monitor project costs, and analyze deviations from the budget.
  • Updating and submitting details such as taking-off, estimation works, and tabulations as requested by Directors.
  • Preparing and finalizing outstanding progress claims and final claims with timely submission and proper documentation.
  • Participating in drafting contracts and procurement-related documents, including tender evaluation reports, contract agreements, and supplier evaluations.
  • Coordinating with project teams to understand procurement needs and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Liaising with vendors on pricing, lead times, and product availability.
  • Coordinating with sales to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Sourcing and procuring mechanical parts with quality and cost-effectiveness in mind.
  • Preparing purchase orders, monitoring delivery schedules, and managing incoming/outgoing goods.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma in Building/Construction or Quantity Surveying, or equivalent. Additional certifications related to quantity surveying or procurement will be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and AutoCAD. Advanced knowledge in Excel, including data analysis capabilities, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Adobe PDF editing or equivalent software.
  • Experience in contract drafting, procurement, and administration.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing progress claims and related documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders effectively.
