Job summary

Lian Beng Construction (1988) Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Tender/Quantity Surveyor to collect tender documents, study specifications, coordinate with departments, prepare cost estimates and compile quotations.

You will review tender requirements, prepare unit rates and subcontract summaries, assist with post-contract transfers and support project managers with quantities for variations and progress claims.

Qualifications

• At least Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Building/Construction/Civil Engineering
• Minimum 2 years relevant working experiences in local construction industry

Responsibilities

• Collect tender documents and check for completeness
• Study and review the tender documents, which include specifications, drawings, commercial requirements and technical requirements
• Coordinate with relevant departments on commercial items (e.g., insurance cover)
• Coordinate and obtain technical information to perform cost estimates
• Carry out material take-off including man-hours estimates; obtain prices from local and overseas vendors; obtain quotes for services and subcontracting works
• Attend site visits and clarification meetings with the customer
• Compile quotations, compare quotes, review prices, and summarize subcontracts, materials and equipment
• Estimate indirect costs such as staff, site establishment and other miscellaneous costs
• Compile unit rates, construction equipment rates and other cost information for the bid
• Assist in preparation of tender summary for management review
• Check proposals against tender requirements
• Prepare supporting information for management during tender negotiations
• Assist in working out quantities for tender, project variations and progress claims
• Assist Project Managers in quantities for variations and progress claims
• Prepare post-contract transfer of documents
• Prepare subcontract documents
• Other duties as assigned by the Departmental Manager

Job Responsibilities

• Collect tender documents and check for completeness
• Study and review the tender documents, which include specifications, drawings, commercial requirements and technical requirements
• To co-ordinate with the relevant departments on commercial items e.g. insurance cover etc
• To co-ordinate and obtain technical information in order to do cost estimates
• Where required, to carry out material take-off including man-hours estimates; obtaining material / equipment prices from both local and oversee vendors; obtaining quotes on services ad subcontracting works
• To attend site visits and clarification meetings with the customer
• Compilation of quotations, comparison of quotes, review of prices, selection of competitive prices and summarising subcontracts, materials and equipment
• Estimation of indirect costs e.g. staffs, site establishment and other miscellaneous costs
• To compile unit rates, construction equipment rates and other cost information required for the bid
• To assist in preparation of tender summary for management review
• Checking of proposal against tender requirements
• To prepare supporting information for the management during tender negotiation stage
• To assist in working out quantities for tender, project variations and progress claims
• To assist the Project Managers in working out quantities for variations and progress claims
• To prepare the post-contract transfer of documents
• To prepare subcontract documents
• Other duties as assigned by the Departmental Manager
