If successful, you will lead a high-performing Front Office Valuation & Structuring (V&S) LNG quantitative team supporting global LNG trading, portfolio optimization, origination, and structured commercial transactions. We are seeking an experienced quantitative leader with deep expertise in LNG valuation, optionality analysis, portfolio optimization, and front-office decision support to develop and enhance analytical capabilities that drive commercial value across the global LNG business.

In this role, you will serve as a senior quantitative partner to LNG traders, originators, structurers, and commercial leaders, providing transparent, independent, and commercially actionable valuation and risk expertise. You will lead the development of advanced pricing and optimization frameworks used to evaluate complex LNG supply and offtake agreements, shipping portfolios, regasification capacity, storage assets, and structured transactions. Based in Singapore, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of LNG quantitative analytics while partnering closely with global trading teams across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

What you will do
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of LNG quantitative analysts supporting global LNG trading, portfolio management, and commercial activities.
  • Provide quantitative leadership to traders, originators, and structuring teams by delivering robust valuation, optimization, and risk analysis for LNG transactions and portfolios.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of advanced valuation and optimization models supporting LNG trading, structured transactions, and portfolio optimization activities.
  • Oversee the valuation of embedded optionality across LNG supply and offtake agreements, destination flexibility, cargo diversion rights, shipping portfolios, storage agreements, and regasification capacity.
  • Partner directly with traders and originators to evaluate commercial opportunities, structure transactions, assess risk-reward tradeoffs, and develop value-maximizing strategies.
  • Develop analytical frameworks that optimize LNG sourcing, transportation, storage, shipping, and market placement decisions across global LNG portfolios.
  • Apply advanced quantitative techniques including stochastic modeling, Monte Carlo simulation, optimization methodologies, and scenario analysis to support commercial decision-making.
  • Provide independent valuation challenge and risk assessment for complex LNG transactions, ensuring transparency, consistency, and robust commercial evaluation.
  • Advise front-office stakeholders on hedging strategies, portfolio risk management, and quantitative approaches to managing commodity price, basis, freight, and optionality exposures.
  • Collaborate with traders, portfolio managers, risk teams, and senior leadership to identify strategic opportunities and enhance portfolio performance.
  • Lead model validation, back-testing, calibration, and governance activities to ensure analytical rigor and continuous improvement of quantitative frameworks.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on LNG valuation methodologies, portfolio optimization techniques, and commercial optionality modeling.
  • Collaborate with technology and data teams to enhance analytical infrastructure, improve model deployment processes, and deliver scalable production-ready solutions.
  • Communicate complex quantitative concepts, valuation outputs, and portfolio insights clearly and effectively to commercial stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Foster quantitative best practices, technical excellence, and knowledge sharing across the Global Trading Analytics organization.
What you will bring
  • Master’s or PhD degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Engineering, Operations Research, Physics, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Significant front-office quantitative analytics experience supporting LNG traders, originators, structuring teams, or portfolio managers within commodity trading or energy trading organizations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing, mentoring, or leading quantitative analytics teams in a commercial trading environment.
  • Extensive experience working directly with traders and commercial decision-makers to evaluate transactions, structure deals, assess risk exposures, and identify value creation opportunities.
  • Deep understanding of LNG valuation, portfolio optimization, structured transactions, and commercial optionality.
  • Strong expertise in option pricing theory, stochastic modeling, optimization techniques, Monte Carlo simulation, and risk analytics.
  • Experience valuing LNG supply agreements, LNG offtake contracts, destination flexibility, shipping portfolios, storage assets, regasification capacity, and transportation agreements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and experience developing scalable quantitative tools, optimization frameworks, and analytical applications.

  • Experience with model validation, calibration, back-testing, and quantitative governance frameworks.
  • Ability to translate complex quantitative analysis into commercially actionable recommendations for traders, originators, and senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence decision-making at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced front-office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
