Job summary

ExxonMobil in Singapore is seeking LNG Trading Analysts to support Global Gas and Power Analytics Trading teams. You will be a key trading resource to identify opportunities through supply/demand balances, economics, and arbitrage analysis.

You will link with colleagues across the globe, analyze market movements, and help drive trade execution. The role involves developing strategies and providing forecasts, with exposure to derivatives and risk analysis.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in engineering, mathematics, economics, finance or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in analysis within trading shops, banks or funds.
• Experience and knowledge of physical and paper markets in crude and products.
• Experience and knowledge of derivatives, risk evaluation and management techniques, or financial analyses.
• Strong numerical, analytical and modelling skills.
• Ability to forecast and assess market changes and business decisions.
• Ability to collaborate with multinational and cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated leadership with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in programming across Python, R, SQL, Tableau and SAP.

Responsibilities

• Develop and present trade strategies using market fundamentals and advanced analytics.
• Provide market forecasts on fundamentals and price.
• Offer economic analysis for opportunity evaluation and learnings from misses.
• Support derivatives trading with analysis of usage of derivative instruments.

• Utilize strategic tools including Data systems, Eikon and SAP.
• Contribute to strategic projects and market-entry studies.
• Support Trading Management on ad-hoc business issues.

What role you will play on our team

We are seeking experienced candidates for LNG Trading Analysts to support our Global Gas and Power Analytics Trading teams.

Successful candidates will act as a key trading resource to drive opportunity identification & capture via understanding supply/demand balances, economics, arbitrage analysis, tracking of specific commodity movements, trade flow analysis, and blending opportunities. This includes linking with your fellow trading analysts across the globe and across commodities.

This role is located in Singapore.

What you will do

• Developing and presenting ongoing/unique trade strategies, connecting market fundamentals with proprietary insights, utilizing advanced analytics in conjunction with supply and demand models

• Provide market forecasts on fundamentals and price to aide the trading organization

• Providing economic analysis for opportunity evaluation and capture learnings from missed opportunities

• Supporting derivatives trading with analysis of new and existing usage of derivative instruments

• Developing strong collaborative relationships with key trading partners, both domestically and globally, in order to drive trade execution and value creation

• Acting as power-user of strategic tools that support trading activities: Data systems, bespoke analytical tools, Eikon, SAP

• Contributing to special projects, strategy studies, and market entries

• Supporting Trading Management on ad‑hoc business issues

About you

• Hold a BS, BBA in engineering, mathematics, economics, finance, business (or equivalent)

• Have minimum 5 years experience in analysis field in trading shops, banks, funds, etc

• Experience and knowledge of physical and paper markets in crude and products

• Experience and knowledge of derivatives, risk evaluation and management techniques, or financial analyses

• Be able to demonstrate strong numerical, analytical and modelling skills

• Have the ability to forecast and assess impact of market changes and business decisions

• Be able to make recommendations based on analysis

• Be able to demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with multi‑national and cross functional teams

• Be able to demonstrated leadership paired with strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrated experience in effective two‑way communication with internal and external customers (oral, written, presentation, listening)

• Strong drive, motivation and continuous improvement mindset

• Solid proficiency in the use of computers, inclusive of programming skills across Python, R, SQL, Tableau and SAP programs

• Interesting in pursuing a career in Trading analytics and commodity market analysis
