Job summary

Intellipro Group in Singapore is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead the Quality Management System (QMS) and drive continuous improvement across marine shipbuilding projects.

You will conduct internal and supplier audits, ensure ISO 9001 and ASME code compliance, collaborate with engineering and production teams, and develop documentation, procedures, and training to support certification and regulatory requirements, while traveling to shipyards as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, or Quality Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years' quality engineering experience in marine/shipbuilding/heavy engineering.
  • Strong ISO 9001 QMS implementation and auditing knowledge.
  • Familiar with ASME codes and marine classification society requirements.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen.
  • Excellent communication and leadership; able to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to work in shipyard environments and travel.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across shipbuilding processes, focusing on efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Conduct internal audits, supplier audits, and ensure corrective/preventive actions are implemented effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with marine industry standards and ASME codes relevant to piping, welding, and instrumentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and project teams to ensure quality objectives are met.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, procedures, and quality records for certification and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on quality standards and continuous improvement practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, or Quality Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in quality engineering within marine, shipbuilding, or heavy engineering industries.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS implementation and auditing.
  • Familiarity with ASME codes (e.g., ASME Section VIII for pressure vessels, ASME B31.3 for piping) and marine classification society requirements (ABS, DNV, Lloyd's Register).
  • Experience in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to influence cross‑functional teams.
  • Proficiency in audit tools, root‑cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action systems.
  • Willingness to work in shipyard environments and travel when required.
