Job summary

GD Precision Pte Ltd is seeking a Quality Control Inspector/Leader to discuss and assign inspection jobs to QC inspectors, ensuring parts meet delivery deadlines and maintaining efficient QC management.

You will guide inspectors on the best inspection methods and equipment, perform root cause analysis on rejects, and ensure quality reports are signed off before delivering to customers. A Diploma in Engineering with relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering with 2 years of working experience in precision machining (or >5 years without diploma).
• Knowledge of machining processes, heat-treatment and surface processes.
• Good knowledge in reading technical drawing specifications.
• Good knowledge in measuring and CMM equipment.
• Must be good in problem solving and be a team player.
• Must have initiative and process leadership quality.
• Good discipline in maintaining QMS procedures.

Responsibilities

• Discuss and assign inspection jobs to QC inspectors and ensure parts meet delivery deadlines.
• Use appropriate inspection methods and measuring equipment for QC inspections.
• Minimize customer rejects by preventing bad quality parts from passing QC.
• Troubleshoot rejected parts with related departments to prevent recurrence.
• Check and sign off quality reports before issue to customers.
• Organize and assign inspection jobs per delivery priority.
• Instruct inspectors on best inspection methods and equipment.
• Conduct root cause analysis on rejects with production teams for corrective actions.
• Ensure timely resolution of quality issues and traceability of rejects.
• Prepare and maintain inspection/test plans/reports per customer requirements.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

To discuss and assign the inspection jobs to the QC inspectors and to ensure that the parts are checked correctly and meet the delivery deadlines and that the QC department in managed efficiently:

• In using the best checking methods and the right measuring equipment to perform the QC inspections
• Minimized customers’ rejects by ensuring that no bad quality parts are passed through the QC department
• Trouble shoot and discuss the rejected parts with the related departments and to ensure that no repeat of the mistakes made
• Check and sign off quality reports before issue to customers

Daily Key Tasks

• To organize and assign the inspection jobs to QC inspectors according to delivery priority
• To instruct and advise the QC inspectors the best quality inspection methods and measuring equipment used
• Conduct root cause analysis on rejects and work with programmers, process planners and production on corrective actions.
• Ensure timely resolution of quality issues, corrective actions and preventive actions and all quality rejects are traceable to the person who made the rejects
• Prepare and maintain inspection and test plans/reports for the products and projects according to customers’ requirements and sign off quality reports.
• To conduct daily/weekly QC meetings on quality issues and delivery commitments
• Attend production/project meetings and present delivery commitment and progress status reporting
• Prepare and update quality performance charts and records
• Collect, organise and review quality records in accordance with QMS procedures, customers’ requirements and company's quality management systems and standards
• To provide weekly update progress report to Quality Manager and Management

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma in Engineering with 2 years working experience in precision machining, those without Diploma but with more than 5 years of experience may be considered
