Job summary

MTC Consulting Pte. Ltd. is hiring a Visual Inspection Operator to inspect silicon photonics wafers and dies using optical microscopes, ensuring defects are identified and classified according to SOPs.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to work long hours, and compliance with cleanroom procedures. The position offers a basic salary up to SGD 3,000 depending on experience, with rotating shifts (8:30am-8:30pm, OT available) and options for night shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in semiconductor wafer inspection, visual inspection, microscopy/microscope, wafer testing or cleanroom manufacturing will be an advantage.
• Comfortable working with microscopes / optical inspection equipment for long hours
• Good eyesight and strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify small visual defects.
• Able to perform repetitive inspection work, Able to follow SOPs, inspection criteria and production procedures accurately.
• Basic understanding of semiconductor wafer / die handling and ESD control.
• Basic computer skills for recording inspection results.
• Willing to work in a cleanroom / controlled manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on, team player with a growth mindset and eagerness to learn, good teamwork and communication skills.
• MUST Adapt to fast pace environment

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection of silicon photonics wafers and dies using optical microscope / OM equipment.
• Inspect wafer surfaces and device structures for scratches, contamination, cracks, particles, chipping and other visible defects.
• Follow inspection criteria, work instructions and quality standards to ensure consistent inspection results.
• Perform wafer/die inspection, classification and sorting according to defined specifications.
• Record inspection results accurately in production systems, inspection logs or quality reports.
• Identify abnormal conditions and elevate defects or out-of-spec conditions to Engineers / Supervisors.
• Support engineers in failure analysis, defect verification and sample inspection when required.
• Assist with wafer handling, loading/unloading and movement between inspection and testing processes.
• Maintain proper ESD, cleanroom and contamination-control practices.
• Perform basic equipment checks and ensure microscopes / inspection tools are kept clean and operational.
• Follow production safety procedures, SOPs and work instructions.
• Support NPI, engineering evaluation and mass production activities when required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and comply with fab operational requirements.
