Whitecrow Research Sdn Bhd seeks a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of optical components and wafers.
You will inspect with bright-field/dark-field microscopes, read engineering drawings, and document results with traceability. Mandarin is preferred due to travel needs in China, with rotation between standard and overtime shifts as production expands.
Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured optical components and wafers.
Conduct visual inspections under bright-field and dark-field microscopes to identify defects.
Classify inspection defects and support quality improvement initiatives with the engineering team.
Operate precision measuring equipment, including:
Micrometers
Measuring microscopes
Optical Gaging Products (OGP) / Smart Scope
Read and interpret engineering drawings and product specifications.
Record inspection findings accurately while maintaining full documentation and traceability.
Prepare outgoing quality inspection reports and records.
Support trainee inspectors and verify inspection results when required.
Recommend process improvements to enhance inspection quality and efficiency.
Requirements
Minimum Nitec / Higher Nitec in Mechatronics, Precision Engineering, Opticianry, Engineering, or related disciplines.
1-2 years of experience in visual inspection within:
Semiconductor
Optics
Photonics
Precision manufacturing
Thin-film manufacturing
Experience using precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, measuring microscopes, or OGP systems.
Experience with Smart Scope or Vision Measurement Systems is an added advantage.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Teams.
Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation skills.
Good command of English.
Mandarin proficiency is highly preferred due to frequent communication and travel requirements in China.
Comfortable working in dark-room inspection environments and performing repetitive visual inspection tasks.
Able to travel overseas on short notice when required.
