Job summary

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, a business segment of Element Solutions Inc, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform testing on in-process and finished products. You will handle calibration, data analysis, and investigations while supporting 12-hour permanent shifts (4 days a week) and collaboration with suppliers for maintenance.

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in chemistry or related field and at least 2 years of laboratory working experience.
• Proficient in hands-on operation of analytical tools and lab based instruments.
• Solid understanding of analytical accuracy and precision; strong analysis skills and attention to detail; willingness to learn new sampling techniques

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, in-process and outgoing inspection
• Assist in new project evaluation
• Analyze customer returns and generate investigation reports
• Review SPC trends and identify abnormalities
• Method validation and troubleshooting
• Statistical analysis and data interpretation
• Root cause investigations
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment
• Liaise with external vendors for maintenance and calibration
• Manage lab consumables inventory and issue POs
• Train QC technicians
• Manage measurement system analysis (MSA)
• Maintain good housekeeping in the laboratory
• Overtime as required; 12-hour shifts, 4 days a week

Who are we looking for?

The incumbent will be responsible for performing laboratory procedures for testing in process and finished products from manufacturing, raw material samples prior to use in manufacturing.

What will you be doing?

• Perform receiving, in- process and outgoing inspection
• Participate in new project evaluation
• Assist Laboratory supervisor on analyzing/investigation on customer returns sample/customer complaints, generate investigation report
• Review SPC trend and highlight any trend abnormality
• Method validation and troubleshooting
• Statistical analysis and data interpretation
• Investigation and root cause analysis
• Manage calibration and Maintenance of Laboratory equipment
• Liaise with vendor on Maintenance, Calibration, Troubleshooting and of Lab equipment
• Lab consumable inventory control, puchase and issue PO
• Lead and provide training to QC technician
• Manage measurement System Analysis (MSA)
• Ensure good housekeeping of the laboratory at all times
• Any other tasks as and when assigned.
• Able to perform overtime when required
• Expected to be on a 12-hours permanent shift, 4 days work a week

Who are You?

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in chemistry or related field and at least 2 years of laboratory working experience
• Proficient in hands-on operation of analytical tools and lab based instruments.
• Candidate should have a solid undestanding of analytical accuracy and precison, demonstrate strong analysis skills and attention to detail, and show willingness to learn new sampling techniques

What competencies will you need?

• Effectively bilingual in english and mandarin to communciate with external suppliers or vendors based in mainland China.
• Proficient in performing equipment Calibration and Maintenance
• Collaborative personlity with a willingness to learn and expand skillsets
