Marquess Services is seeking a Python Developer to join a banking technology project focused on AML/KYC applications and process automation.

You will build, maintain and support Python-based applications to improve efficiency, streamline banking processes and support regulatory compliance.

Competenze

• 1–5 years of software development experience.

• REST API development and integration experience.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Python Developer to join a banking technology project involving the development and enhancement of AML/KYC applications and process automation solutions.

You will work alongside experienced developers and technical leads to build, maintain and support Python-based applications that improve operational efficiency, streamline banking processes and support regulatory compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in gathering and analysing business and technical requirements for application development and process automation.
• Develop, enhance and maintain Python-based applications using Django and REST API frameworks.
• Support frontend development using React, JavaScript, CSS and SCSS.
• Assist in developing API integrations and connecting applications with internal banking systems.
• Perform SQL queries, database development and basic query optimisation using MS SQL or Oracle.
• Participate in unit testing, integration testing, debugging and application troubleshooting.
• Support system deployment, release activities and production maintenance.
• Follow established software development, change management and engineering review processes.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, senior developers and other technical stakeholders.
• Prepare technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements & Technical Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• 1–5 years of relevant software development experience.
• Basic to intermediate programming experience in Python.
• Familiarity with Django, Flask or other Python backend frameworks.
• Knowledge of REST API development and integration.
• Exposure to frontend technologies such as React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS or SCSS.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as MS SQL or Oracle.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and basic Shell Scripting.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles and coding standards.
• Exposure to Git or other source control tools.
• Understanding of software testing, debugging and troubleshooting.
• Good analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and work in an Agile or Waterfall development environment.

Good to Have

• Exposure to banking, financial services or enterprise application development.
• Familiarity with AML/KYC processes, transaction monitoring or sanctions screening.
• Exposure to regulatory compliance or risk management systems.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and automated testing.
• Exposure to MQ, microservices or batch processing.
