Job summary

Manpower Staffing Services (Singapore) Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Python Django. You will build robust REST APIs and backend services while implementing complex business logic and data workflows.

The role requires strong frontend basics (HTML/CSS/JS), collaboration with cross-functional teams, and participation in Agile ceremonies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• 5–10+ years of software development experience.
• Hands-on with Python Django Framework.
• Proven experience with MariaDB/MySQL in high-volume environments.
• RESTful API development and integration experience.
• Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, and modern web development practices.
• Experience with Linux and Git version control.
• Exposure to web servers like NGINX or Apache.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with SDLC, testing, and release management.
• Exposure to Java, Angular, React, and cloud platforms.
• Awareness of application security practices and Agile/Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Python Django.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Python Django.
• Build secure, scalable, and high-performance REST APIs and backend services.
• Develop and implement complex business logic, including risk calculations, workflow automation, dashboards, and data quality controls.
• Create and maintain responsive user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks.
• Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and UX teams to deliver intuitive user experiences.
• Ensure application performance, cross-browser compatibility, and scalability.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to product enhancements and technical improvements.
• Maintain software engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, security, performance monitoring, and documentation.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, release management, and production deployments.
• Provide Level 3 production support and troubleshoot critical application issues within agreed service levels.
• Contribute to system optimization, security compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
