Job summary

Search Personnel Pte Ltd is seeking a Purchasing Executive to manage materials planning and SAP-based purchasing in a manufacturing setting. You will coordinate orders with local and overseas suppliers, track shipments and maintain accurate item-master data in SAP.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in a related field and at least three years in purchasing or materials planning, with strong Excel skills and supplier coordination capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Generate purchasing and inventory reports from SAP for monitoring and analysis.

Job description

• Position: Purchasing Executive (Materials Planning / SAP)
• Location: Tuas Crescent - Company transport provided (Pick up point at Jurong East and Marsiling MRT)
• Working hours: 5 days, Monday - Friday (8.30am – 5.15pm)
• Salary (commensurate on experience): Up to $4200 + Variable Bonus + 14 days annual leave + Medical
• Duration: Permanent
• Industry: Industrial Equipment / Diesel Generators

Main Responsibilities:

• Plan material purchases based on sales demand, operational requirements and inventory levels.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders to local and overseas suppliers.
• Monitor inventory levels to maintain material availability while controlling excess stock.
• Follow up with suppliers on order confirmation, pricing, availability and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate inbound shipments with freight forwarders and monitor delivery status.
• Resolve shortages, damaged goods, delivery delays and product non-conformance with suppliers.
• Prepare import and shipment documents for warehouse receiving and verification.
• Coordinate the delivery, assembly and distribution of parts to support operational requirements.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels for commonly used and critical parts.
• Generate purchasing and inventory reports from SAP for monitoring and analysis.
• Create and maintain accurate item-master records in SAP.
• Maintain purchasing records, supplier information and price lists.
• Consolidate shipments where appropriate to optimise freight costs.
• Coordinate with the Finance team on supplier invoices and payment matters.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• At least three years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement or materials planning.
• Hands-on experience using an ERP system; SAP experience is advantageous.
• Experience handling purchase orders, supplier follow-up and inventory planning.
• Familiarity with local and international shipment coordination and documentation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Good analytical, supplier-coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work effectively with suppliers, freight forwarders, warehouse personnel and internal departments.
