Job summary

PUB Public Utilities Board is seeking an Assistant Engineer for Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA) at Jurong Water Reclamation Plant. You will perform routine maintenance, calibrate instruments, and troubleshoot ICA systems to ensure reliable operation.

You will also support PLC/DCS/SCADA configurations and assist in system upgrades and cybersecurity compliance, coordinating with contractors and vendors as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA) systems is preferred.
• Maintenance and calibration skills across ICA equipment are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive and predictive maintenance on ICA equipment including transmitters, sensors, analysers, flow meters, gauges and controllers.
• Calibrate and verify instruments according to procedures and schedules.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation faults and support emergency maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Support PLC, DCS and SCADA systems and assist in configuration and testing of control systems.
• Assist system upgrades, modifications and cybersecurity compliance for ICA systems.
• Plan inspection/maintenance programs, prepare specifications, scope of works and cost estimates for ICA projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors and OEMs for procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Track works orders/purchase orders and help prepare maintenance budgets.

What the role is

As Assistant Engineer for Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA) with Jurong Water Reclamation Plant, your responsibilities would include the following:

What you will be working on

• Perform routine, preventive and predictive maintenance on ICA equipment including transmitters, sensors, analysers, flow meters, pressure gauges, and temperature controllers.
• Conduct calibration and verification of instruments in accordance with established procedures and schedules.
• Troubleshoot and rectify instrumentation faults, and assist in emergency preparedness and maintenance works to minimise operational downtime.
• Support the operation and maintenance of PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems, and assist in configuration, programming and testing of control systems.
• Assist in the implementation of system upgrades, modifications and cybersecurity compliance for ICA systems.
• Assist in the planning of inspection/maintenance programs, preparation of specifications, scope of works and cost estimates for ICA projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and OEMs for equipment procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Track Works Orders/Purchase Orders and assist in the preparation and review of maintenance budget to ensure timely closure and expenditure is utilised in accordance with plan.
• Ensure all works comply with safety regulations and statutory requirements, including preparation of Notification Permit to Work, Risk Assessment (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP).
• Support innovation, digitalisation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance Plant safety, operation and maintenance.

What we are looking for

• Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualification in relevant field.
• Candidates who have work experience with ICA systems are preferred.
