Job summary

Jurong Water Reclamation Plant is seeking an Assistant Engineer for Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA). You will perform maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of ICA equipment, and support PLC/DCS/SCADA systems to ensure reliable plant operations.

The role focuses on system upgrades, cybersecurity compliance, inspection planning, and coordination with contractors. A Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering is required, with preference for ICA experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with ICA systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive and predictive maintenance on ICA equipment.
• Calibrate and verify instruments per procedures and schedules.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation faults and assist in emergency maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Support operation and maintenance of PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems.
• Assist in system upgrades, modifications and cybersecurity compliance for ICA systems.
• Assist in planning inspection/maintenance programs, preparation of specifications, scope of works and cost estimates for ICA projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and OEMs for equipment procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Track Works Orders/Purchase Orders and assist in review of maintenance budget.
• Ensure safety regulations and prepare Permit to Work, RA and SWP as required.
• Support innovation and digitalisation initiatives to enhance Plant safety, operation and maintenance.

What the role is

As Assistant Engineer for Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA) with Jurong Water Reclamation Plant, your responsibilities would include the following:

What you will be working on

• Perform routine, preventive and predictive maintenance on ICA equipment including transmitters, sensors, analysers, flow meters, pressure gauges, and temperature controllers.
• Conduct calibration and verification of instruments in accordance with established procedures and schedules.
• Troubleshoot and rectify instrumentation faults, and assist in emergency preparedness and maintenance works to minimise operational downtime.
• Support the operation and maintenance of PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems, and assist in configuration, programming and testing of control systems.
• Assist in the implementation of system upgrades, modifications and cybersecurity compliance for ICA systems.
• Assist in the planning of inspection/maintenance programs, preparation of specifications, scope of works and cost estimates for ICA projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and OEMs for equipment procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Track Works Orders/Purchase Orders and assist in the preparation and review of maintenance budget to ensure timely closure and expenditure is utilised in accordance with plan.
• Ensure all works comply with safety regulations and statutory requirements, including preparation of Notification Permit to Work, Risk Assessment (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP).
• Support innovation, digitalisation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance Plant safety, operation and maintenance.

What we are looking for

• Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualification in relevant field.
• Candidates who have work experience with ICA systems are preferred.
