Job summary

The PUB Public Utilities Board seeks an Assistant Engineer/Senior Assistant Engineer (Shift Operations) for the Changi Water Reclamation Plant to treat used water and produce NEWater while ensuring safe discharge to sea. You will monitor processes, respond to alarms, and maintain records as part of a dedicated operations team.

Applicants should hold an Engineering Diploma (Electrical preferred), be able to work independently or as a team member, and be comfortable in a water treatment

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering (Electrical preferred).
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable with working in a used water environment and able to perform site works.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Shift Leader to monitor and control plant processes and operate M&E and auxiliary equipment safely.
• Respond to abnormalities and carry out SOP when required.
• Record process and equipment readings, perform site checks and troubleshoot minor equipment failures.
• Carry out site checks of equipment and plant operating conditions and record operations.
• Carry out sampling and testing of specific process parameters to ensure quality output.
• Log all events during the shift in the operations logbook and report equipment breakdowns.

[What the role is]

As an Assistant Engineer/Senior Assistant Engineer (Shift Operations)atChangi Water Reclamation Plant,you will play a vital role in treating used water to produce high-quality NEWater and ensure safe discharge to the sea. We are looking for motivated individuals to join us.

Your main responsibilities are:

• Assist the Shift Leader tomonitorand control plantprocesses andtooperateM&E and auxiliary equipmentsafely
• Respond to abnormalities and carry out SOPwhenrequired.
• Record process and equipment operating readings, perform sitechecksand troubleshoot minor equipment failures.
• Carry out site checks of equipment and plant operating conditions regularly and take down relevant operatingrecords.
• Carryout sampling and testing of specificprocess parameters toensure compliance to desired quality output.
• Record all events that occurred during the shift duty in the operations logbook.
• Reportall equipment breakdown thatoccurredduring the shift in the daily fault notification file.
• Check equipment and plant operating conditions regularly and take down relevant operatingrecords.
• Attendtoalarms detected within the Plant.
• Any other duties assigned.
