Job summary

Samwoh is seeking a capable Project Manager / Senior Project Manager in Singapore to drive project delivery from design through construction, coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors.

You will lead a project team, manage budgets and schedules, ensure safety and quality on site, and report progress to CPM/GM. The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and 10+ years in construction, with MRT/roadworks experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree recognised by PEB in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Experience on large scale roadworks, MRT, or viaduct projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor project team; set guidelines and supervise when necessary.
• Coordinate project scope from design to completion within budget, schedule and quality targets.
• Prepare and review progress reports and attend client and contractor meetings.
• Oversee safety, quality control, and environmental health practices on site.
• Manage subcontractors and site labor, resolve construction issues.

PROJECT MANAGER / SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

• Report and assist Chief Project Manager (CPM) / General Manager (GM) on project functions included but not limited to project management, site management, risk control management etc. to meet the project(s) goals;
• Leading and mentoring a project team by setting guidelines and/or procedures, providing advice and supervision when necessary;
• Responsible for overall Project Management activities inclusive of overall planning and coordination of project from award of project, design, construction to completion within established budget, schedule and quality standards;
• Assist CPM/GM in collations of project progress reports e.g. Monthly Report, VO Management, EOT Assessment, Project Progress Updates, etc;
• Monitor project development schedule and manage the day-to-day operations of a program, project or function, including developing short and long-range goals, objectives and budgets, coordinating activities with other Contractors;
• Conduct technical reviews to ensure compliance with Contractual requirements and target completion date is met;
• Liaise with Client's Representatives, Consultants and/or Contractors engaged on the project and attend regular meetings so as to ensure the progress is on schedule;
• Supervise and monitoring the site labor force and monitor the work of Subcontractors including resolve any unexpected construction difficulties and other problems that may arise;
• Oversee quality control and safety matters on the site and to ensure Environmental, Safety & Health (EHS) practices are carried out at all time and identify high risks safety hazard activities before construction and approval of Method Statements;
• Under the WSH Act, employees have a duty to keep their workplace and colleagues safe:
  • Cooperate with employers and follow safety and health procedure;
  • Report unsafe acts and incidents;
  • Do not tamper with safety devices or perform wilful or reckless acts; and
• Be responsible for any other duties that may be assigned from time to time as your superior/management deem fit.

Job Requirements:

• Degree recognised by Singapore Professional Engineers Board (PEB) in Civil Engineering or equivalent 10 years and more of working experience in the construction industry.
• Experience in LTA/Roadworks/MRT/Viaducts projects.
