Job summary

LED SIGNS PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a project engineer to manage metalwork projects from site survey to fabrication, installation and handover.

You will review drawings, coordinate shop drawings, and work with clients, consultants and installation teams to ensure smooth execution. The role requires a degree in Mechanical/Structural/Civil Engineering, at least 5 years in metal fabrication or structural works, proficiency in AutoCAD (SolidWorks a plus), and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical/Structural/Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant metal fabrication or structural works experience.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of SolidWorks is an advantage.
• Familiar with fabrication of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
• Proficient in spoken and written English; strong communication.
• Knowledge of welding, metal framing, brackets, base plates and structural connections.

Responsibilities

• Manage metalwork projects from site survey through fabrication, installation and handover.
• Review drawings, specifications and site conditions; propose fabrication and installation solutions.
• Coordinate shop drawings, fabrication drawings and installation details using CAD software.
• Coordinate fabrication of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium structures, frames and enclosures.
• Work closely with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers to ensure project progress.
• Plan and coordinate materials, manpower, fabrication schedules, delivery and onsite installation.
• Monitor progress, timelines, costs and variations; resolve issues.
• Conduct or coordinate quality inspections; ensure compliance with drawings and requirements.
• Supervise site installation and resolve on-site issues.
• Coordinate with Professional Engineers for structural calculations or submissions.
• Maintain project documentation and coordinate inspections and handover.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Manage metalwork projects from site survey and drawing coordination through fabrication, installation and final handover.


• Review project drawings, specifications and site conditions, and propose practical fabrication and installation solutions.


• Review and coordinate shop drawings, fabrication drawings and installation details using AutoCAD and other relevant design software.


• Coordinate fabrication of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium structures, frames, brackets, enclosures, casings and customised metal components.


• Coordinate structural works


• Work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, fabrication teams and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution.


• Plan and coordinate materials, manpower, fabrication schedules, delivery and onsite installation.


• Monitor project progress, timelines, costs and variation works, and resolve issues that may affect project completion.


• Conduct or coordinate quality inspections to ensure fabrication and installation comply with approved drawings and project requirements.


• Supervise site installation and resolve technical or site issues during project execution.


• Coordinate with Professional Engineers and relevant parties where structural calculations, endorsements or technical submissions are required.


• Maintain project documentation and coordinate inspections, rectification and final handover.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building/Construction or a related discipline.


• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in metal fabrication, structural works, architectural metalwork, or similar projects.


• Good practical knowledge of metal fabrication and onsite installation.


• Able to read and understand technical, fabrication and construction drawings.


• Proficient in AutoCAD.


• Knowledge of SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software will be an advantage.


• Familiar with fabrication involving mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium etc.


• Knowledge of welding, metal framing, brackets, base plates, anchoring systems and structural connections will be advantageous.


• Proficient in spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors and site teams.


• Strong project coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.


• Able to manage multiple projects and work independently when required.


• Comfortable conducting site surveys and supervising onsite installation works.


• Familiarity with Singapore construction/site practices, safety requirements and local project coordination will be an advantage.


• Previous experience working on MRT projects, rail-related projects or similar transport infrastructure projects will be highly advantageous.


• Class 3 driving licence will be an advantage.
