Job summary

A construction company based in Singapore is seeking an experienced professional to oversee daily operations of mechanical and electrical works. The ideal candidate will have a recognized degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in building projects. Responsibilities include liaising with clients and authorities, monitoring compliance with safety standards, and coordinating M&E works. This role requires strong technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities, as well as effective communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum a recognized Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Construction Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in building and construction projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.

Job Description
  • Oversee the day to day running of all matters relating to the construction of this project with the assistance of M&E staffs, mainly on mechanical & electrical works.
  • Liaison with external parties such as clients, client representatives and authorities, etc.
  • Co-ordinate the works carried out by his/her M&E Engineer and M&E Co-ordinators.
  • Coordinate with consultants, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop detailed M&E plans and specifications.
  • Review safety reports on compliance and non-compliance to regulatory and organizational Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and Environmental Management System (EMS) standards and practices.
  • Monitor progress and performance of M&E works, identifying any deviations or issues and implementing corrective measures as required.
  • Manage sub-con/in progress production planning & build.
  • Monitoring M&E services variation works and costs during construction stage to ensure within budget.
Requirements
  • Minimum a recognized Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Construction Engineering or other building-related disciplines.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in building and construction projects.
  • Working knowledge in BIM model software.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, and fire protection.
  • Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and safety standards related to M&E installations.
  • Team player and able to communicate well with the team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
