Qualifications

Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
8-12+ years of relevant HVAC/chiller project experience, with at least 3-5 years in a PM role.
Proven experience managing commercial, industrial, data centre, hospital, high-rise or large-scale chiller projects.
Strong knowledge of HVAC design, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and coordination with subcontractors.

Responsibilities

Lead chiller and HVAC projects from design to handover, ensuring safety, timeliness and budget adherence.
Develop and maintain schedules, budgets, manpower and procurement plans.
Review specs, drawings and submissions; coordinate installations and testing.
Coordinate with consultants, clients, main contractors and MEP disciplines to resolve issues.
Monitor progress, take corrective action, and manage variations and claims.
Hold regular project and site meetings and report progress to management and clients.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Chiller Specialist to lead the planning, execution, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of chiller and HVAC projects. The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge of chillers, chilled-water systems, HVAC equipment, and MEP coordination, together with proven project management skills.

The role requires close coordination with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and according to specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manage chiller and HVAC projects from design and procurement through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, and procurement plans.
Review project specifications, drawings, equipment selections, method statements, and technical submissions.
Coordinate the installation of chillers, cooling towers, chilled-water pumps, condenser-water systems, AHUs, FCUs, piping, valves, controls, and associated equipment.
Lead site teams, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and specialist vendors.
Coordinate with consultants, clients, main contractors, and other MEP disciplines to resolve technical and site issues.
Monitor project progress and take corrective action to prevent delays and cost overruns.
Manage procurement, delivery, inspection, and installation of major chiller equipment and materials.
Ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, local regulations, and applicable HVAC standards.
Supervise and coordinate testing, commissioning, performance testing, balancing, and system integration.
Review equipment performance and troubleshoot technical issues involving chillers and chilled-water systems.
Manage project documentation, including RFIs, technical submittals, inspection requests, progress reports, variation orders, and as-built drawings.
Monitor project costs, variations, claims, and subcontractor performance.
Conduct regular project and site meetings and provide progress updates to management and clients.
Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, quality procedures, and risk-control measures.
Support final inspection, defect rectification, documentation, training, and project handover.
Maintain strong relationships with clients and identify opportunities for additional works or future projects.

Technical Responsibilities

The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of:

Air-cooled and water-cooled chillers
Screw, centrifugal, and scroll compressor technologies
Chilled-water and condenser-water systems
Cooling towers and heat rejection systems
Chilled-water pumps and variable-flow systems
HVAC controls, BMS, and system integration
Primary/secondary pumping arrangements
Hydronic balancing and water treatment
Chiller plant optimization and energy efficiency
Testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting
HVAC/MEP drawings, schematics, and equipment schedules

Qualifications & Experience

Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
8-12+ years of relevant experience in HVAC/chiller projects, with at least 3-5 years in a project management role.
Proven experience managing commercial, industrial, data centre, hospital, high-rise, or large-scale chiller plant projects.
Strong knowledge of HVAC design, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and project teams.
Good understanding of project planning, cost control, procurement, and contract administration.
Familiarity with relevant local codes, standards, and authority requirements.
Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
