We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer – Chiller/HVAC Specialist to support the successful execution of chiller and HVAC projects from engineering and procurement through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for coordinating technical activities, supervising site works, liaising with consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, and ensuring that all works are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, project schedules, and safety standards.
Assist the Project Manager in planning and executing chiller and HVAC projects.
Review project specifications, drawings, equipment schedules, and technical requirements.
Coordinate engineering and technical submissions with consultants and clients.
Prepare and review shop drawings, installation drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
Coordinate the installation of:
Chillers
Cooling towers
Chilled-water and condenser-water pumps
Chilled-water piping and valves
AHUs and FCUs
HVAC control systems and BMS
Associated mechanical and electrical systems
Supervise site installation and ensure works comply with approved drawings and specifications.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, main contractors, and other MEP disciplines.
Monitor daily site progress and report technical or construction issues to the Project Manager.
Prepare RFIs, method statements, material submissions, inspection requests, and technical reports.
Conduct site inspections and coordinate testing and inspection activities.
Assist with chiller start-up, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance testing.
Coordinate chilled-water flushing, pressure testing, chemical cleaning, water balancing, and system commissioning.
Assist in resolving technical problems and coordinating corrective actions.
Monitor material deliveries and ensure equipment and materials comply with approved specifications.
Maintain accurate project records, drawings, documentation, and as-built information.
Coordinate with the commissioning team, equipment manufacturers, and specialist contractors.
Assist with project handover, defect rectification, O&M documentation, and client training.
Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and applicable codes and standards.
The successful candidate should have practical knowledge of:
Air-cooled and water-cooled chillers
Screw, centrifugal, and scroll chillers
Chilled-water and condenser-water systems
Cooling towers
Pumps and hydronic systems
HVAC piping and valves
AHUs, FCUs, and ventilation systems
BMS and HVAC controls
Chiller plant operation and troubleshooting
Testing, commissioning, and balancing
HVAC drawings and MEP coordination
Energy-efficient chiller plant operation
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
3–8 years of relevant experience in HVAC, chiller, or MEP projects.
Experience in chiller installation, replacement, retrofit, testing, or commissioning is highly preferred.
Experience working with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and equipment manufacturers.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical/HVAC drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of relevant HVAC standards, codes, and local regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of MS Project, Primavera P6, or other project scheduling software is an advantage.
