Job summary

ALSTERN TECHNOLOGIES SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking a Project Engineer to plan, coordinate, and manage mechanical works from design to completion, with focus on chillers and cooling towers. You will review drawings, coordinate with site teams, and ensure compliance with local regulations.

Requirements include a degree or diploma in mechanical engineering and 2–5 years of relevant experience, plus proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit MEP for drafting and documentation tasks.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Project Engineering & Execution

• Plan, coordinate, and manage mechanical engineering works for assigned projects from design to completion.
• Support overall project engineering activities, including scheduling, technical submissions, andprogress monitoring.
• Coordinate with project managers,site teams, safety team, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure smoothproject execution.
• Ensure works are carried out in compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and localregulations.

Chillers & Cooling Towers

• Design, review, and coordinate chiller plants and cooling tower systems, including associated pumps, piping, and accessories.
• Ensure system designs meet performance, safety, and energy efficiency requirements.
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of chiller and cooling tower systems.
• Troubleshoot technical and operational issues related to chillers, cooling towers, and associatedmechanical systems.
• Prepare bill of materials, design calculations, and equipment schedules.
• Endure designs meet performance,reliability, and cost effectiveness criteria.
• Prepare clear technical documentation and reports.

Drawings & Technical Documentation

• Prepare, review, and coordinate mechanical drawings (shop drawings, as-built drawings, schematics, SLD andisometric drawings).
• Ensure drawings are accurate, compliant with design intent, and aligned with project requirements.
• Liaise with drafting teams and consultants to resolve design discrepancies and technical queries.
• Prepare and review technical submissions, method statements, and engineering calculations.

Coordination & Compliance

• Attend project meetings, site inspections, and technical discussions as required
• Coordinate with other disciplines(electrical, civil, architectural) to ensure proper system integration.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and authority requirements (e.g. BCA, NEA, SCDF, whereapplicable).
• Support testing, commissioning, and documentation for project completion and handover.

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical / chiller plant or cooling tower projects.
• Strong knowledge of chillers,cooling towers, pumps, and piping systems.
• Proficient in reading and preparing mechanical drawings (Revit MEP, AutoCAD or equivalent).
• Familiar with project engineering workflows and site-based execution.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Good teamwork and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven ability to deliver accurate design documentation.
