Job summary

WSP (Asia) Limited in Singapore seeks an experienced Project Manager with extensive on-site MEP supervision capabilities for data centre and industrial projects. You will lead the site team, liaise with clients and contractors, and oversee quality, change control, and progress reporting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage change control for MEP changes.

Job description

Purpose of the job

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with a strong commitment to the construction and engineering sector. The ideal applicant will be an experienced Project Manager with more than 10 years of relevant industry experience, including a proven track record in the site supervision of MEP systems, preferably within data centre and industrial projects. The candidate should also possess experience in MEP quality supervision and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, ranging from subcontractors to end users.

Main Responsibilities
  • Monitor, review and report to the Client on the quality of MEP systems installation works on site.
  • Lead and coordinate the site supervision team, including the Resident Engineer and Resident Technical Officers (RTOs), in the delivery of day-to-day site activities.
  • Act as a key interface between the Client and the Contractor on site, including coordination for Client representatives and other appointed vendors attending site.
  • Work proactively with the Contractor to review, challenge and advise on installation quality and programme performance.
  • Attend and contribute to regular site coordination meetings with the Contractor.
  • Support the Lead Project Manager in the administration of the Request for Approval (RFA) process and the coordination of technical responses from the project team.
  • Support the Lead Project Manager in the management of change control submissions arising from MEP changes identified through site reviews.
  • Contribute actively to weekly progress meetings with the Client and provide clear, timely and accurate progress updates.
  • Promote the observation, feedback and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) practices on site.
  • Use digital platforms effectively, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel and construction EDMS tools such as Bentley ProjectWise.
  • Undertake additional project management duties as delegated by the Lead Project Manager.
Requirements
  • Degree-qualified in MEP engineering, or equivalent demonstrable experience in the construction management of MEP systems.
  • Construction supervision and quality control experience
  • Understanding project programmes and capable of reviewing progress on site (actual vs planned)
  • High quality spoken and written communications and reporting skills
  • Experience working with Clients and stakeholders
  • 15+ years of experience in the engineering and construction industry.
  • Enjoys fast-paced and changing environments.
  • Has a creative mind-set and likes solving problems.
  • Knowledge on the local standards, authority process and relevant construction regulations.
  • Experience in the data centres, pharmaceutical or manufacturing plants an advantage.
  • Able to maintain high standards and aspirations for Health, Safety, Environment and Wellbeing (HSEW).
