Job summary

Sembcorp Specialised Construction, a subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries, is seeking a Project Manager to lead civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction initiatives in Singapore. You will drive planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring quality, safety, and budget adherence.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree with 10+ years in construction, strong leadership, and proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years in the construction industry.
• Construction Safety Course for Project Managers.
• Building Construction Supervisors Safety Course.
• Independent, strong analytical and possess good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent leadership, organisational, and project management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Results-driven, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all project activities, including cost management, project schedule, staff development, site safety and security.
• Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the projects and exercise independent judgment in conduct of business with minimal supervision.
• Develop and submit progress status reports tracking work progress and cost, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
• Responsible for project planning, quality control, risk management for project and site supervision.
• Ensure site safety and prepare safe work procedures with Safety personnel.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, sub-contractors, etc.
• Ensure the smooth completion of the project.

Purpose and Scope

The Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing construction projects from planning through execution to completion. This role ensures that all aspects of the project—including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical works—are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. The Project Manager coordinates with stakeholders, manages resources, and drives project performance to meet client and organizational objectives.
