Job summary

Jobally is recruiting on behalf of our client, a specialist in chiller and air-conditioning solutions, for an experienced Service Engineer with strong hands-on chiller expertise. The role focuses on on-site service calls, diagnostic troubleshooting and delivering reliable maintenance for chiller systems.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years hands-on experience in chillers/ACMV/HVAC, with a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in chillers, ACMV, HVAC or air-conditioning systems.
• Strong maintenance and troubleshooting experience in chiller systems.
• Good communication skills in English with customers and teams.
• Class 3 driving licence is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Attend to customer inquiries, complaints and on-site technical service calls.
• Perform chiller maintenance, troubleshooting, servicing, repair, overhaul and annual shutdown works.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and recommend effective solutions and preventive measures.
• Lead and provide technical guidance to service technicians and subcontractors on service, testing and commissioning.
• Liaise with vendors and customers on service requirements, replacement parts and quotations.
• Supervise and coordinate service activities to ensure work is completed safely and to standard.
• Prepare accurate service and safety reports and maintain service records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
• Provide technical advice to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.

The Opportunity

This is a hands‑on technical role for an experienced Chiller / HVAC Service Engineer who enjoys troubleshooting, maintenance and solving complex equipment issues. You will work closely with customers, service teams and subcontractors to ensure reliable and efficient operation of chiller systems.

Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in chillers, ACMV, HVAC or air‑conditioning systems.
• Strong practical experience in chiller maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul and annual shutdown works is essential.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and prepare service reports in English.
• Resourceful, hands‑on and able to work independently while leading and supporting a service team.
• Able to work in a site‑based / construction‑type environment.
• Comfortable with standby duties after working hours, weekends or public holidays when required, with additional payment in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Class 3 driving licence is an advantage.

Hands‑on chiller service experience is essential. Candidates with predominantly project engineering backgrounds will not be considered.
