Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Singapore seeks a skilled engineer to design, install and test railway systems. You will generate system design documents, MOS, test plans, BoQ and coordinate site-based installation and migration.

You will lead tasks, perform fault finding, update drawings, prepare RFI reports, and provide progress updates. The role requires an engineering degree and at least 5 years in railway projects, with MicroStation drawing skills and hands-on tool experience.

Qualifications

• ITE/Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experiences in engineering or railway projects, experience in railway communication system & installation is an advantage.
• Experience with software and electronic tools; prior railway communication system experience preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with assembly and test tools (soldering, crimping tools, multimeters, oscilloscope).
• Ability to draft/compute 2D-drawings on MicroStation.
• Willing to work night/engineering hours (during railway maintenance shutdowns).
• Highly motivated team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Generate and submit system design documents, MOS, test plans and procedures, and BoQ according to the requirements of the allocated railway line.
• Coordinate with SWC and Civil contractor for enabling site-based installation, migration and implementation.
• Lead and implement site-based migration/installation of allocated system.
• Perform installation, test and commissioning tasks per test plan; record and analyze results; summarize in test reports; communicate issues to the system engineer.
• Conduct first-level fault finding on electronic systems and report results and systemic issues.
• Identify and report defects or variations of site-based implementations.
• Prepare RFI documentation such as punch list report, cable test report, anchor pull-out test report, CRL drawings.
• Provide weekly and ad-hoc progress reports to the Manager and liaise on all site-related activities.

• To generate and submit system design document, MOS, test plans and procedures, BoQ according to the requirement of the allocated railway line.
• To coordinate with SWC and Civil contractor to for enabling of site-based installation, migration and implementation.
• To lead and implement site-based migration/installation of allocated system.
• Perform installation, test and commissioning tasks according to the test plan, record and analyze results, summarize in test reports, describe any issues, communicate with the system engineer, and close outstanding issues.
• Conduct first-level fault finding on electronic systems and report results and systemic issues.
• Identify and report any defects or variations of site based implementations.
• Report completion of the testing activities in line with the planned timeline and procedure.
• To update relevant design drawings due to the above mentioned or due dynamic changes required on site.
• To prepare RFI documentation such as punch list report, cable test report, anchor pull-out test report, CRL drawings.
• Ensure that "Best Practice" is adopted and that quality of workmanship is always maintained to the highest possible standards.
• To provide weekly and ad-hoc progress reports to the Manager along with liaising on all site related activities
