Job summary

RITHAAN ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. is seeking a Construction Project Engineer with strong understanding of construction contracts and project planning to lead on-site engineering activities in Singapore.

The role focuses on identifying project events affecting time, sequence, and scope, and developing these into contractual submissions with a claims-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Candidate should have construction/site engineering background and ability to identify project events affecting time/scope/execution.
• Experience in identifying events that may lead to contractual submissions and claims.
• Familiarity with reviewing drawings, specs, method statements, RFIs and site instructions.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate construction engineering activities on site.
• Monitor construction progress against approved project programmes.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Engineers, Planning Engineers, Consultants, and Subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements, RFIs, technical submissions, and site instructions.
• Identify construction delays, changes, disruptions, access restrictions, design changes, late information, and other project events.
• Assist in preparing Extension of Time (EOT) claims and delay submissions.
• Prepare event chronologies and cause-and-effect analysis.
• Analyse the impact of project events on construction activities and the project programme.
• Coordinate with Planning Engineers on programme and critical-path impacts.
• Prepare technical and factual information for contractual submissions.
• Maintain contemporaneous site records and supporting evidence.
• Prepare and manage contractual notices and project correspondence.
• Document changes in scope, drawings, instructions, access, sequencing, and construction methodology.
• Support variation and change management from a technical and contractual perspective.
• Monitor contractual deadlines and submission requirements.
• Identify potential claims and contractual risks at an early stage.
• Assist the Project Manager/Contracts Manager in protecting the company's contractual rights and entitlement.

The ideal candidate will have a construction/site engineering background and the ability to identify project events that may affect thetime, sequence, scope, or execution of the works, and properly document and develop these events into contractual submissions.

This is aconstruction and claims-oriented engineering role, rather than a cost or quantity surveying position.
