Company Description
The Lien Foundation is a Singapore philanthropic house noted for its model of radical philanthropy, and aims to transform how societies think about and deliver care. We fund and co‑develop programmes with hospitals, social service agencies and universities, mainly in palliative care, rehabilitation, TCM, eldercare and senior mental health. The team is small and scrappy. For our next phase of growth, we are looking for someone to join us.
What you will do
- Develop programme proposals: Work with partners to conceptualise innovative models of care for funding approval and follow‑through implementation.
- Build bridges: Unite healthcare and social service professionals, technologists, creatives, patients, caregivers and more to co‑create solutions.
- Test and demonstrate what works: Take promising concepts and turn them into real offerings and services, so they can eventually lead to system‑wide transformations.
- Advocate for change: Champion a future where underfunded areas like palliative care, rehabilitation, and senior mental health services are prioritised, integrated, and accessible to all.
Who We Are Looking For
- A doer who can seamlessly transition from strategy to execution. No task is too small or too big. A proven track‑record of turning ideas into action and delivering tangible impact
- A collaborator who knows how to build trust and inspire action across institutions and disciplines.
- A problem‑solver who thrives on tackling complex challenges, finds opportunities where others might see silos and obstacles, and is not afraid to defy conventional wisdom. Ideally with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
Bonus: Experience working with public hospitals, social service agencies and other partners in these domains.
Why Join Us?
- Own the whole thing: You take a programme from the first conversation with a partner through to the duration of the grant.
- Work independently: Few layers, little bureaucracy, and the space to shape your own portfolio.
- A seat at the table: You will be across the table from hospital management, department heads, deans and agency leadership and deliberating the case. Your word counts.
- Impact that matters: Palliative care, rehabilitation and senior mental health are chronically underfunded. What we choose to fund has a real chance of changing how care is delivered, not just how it is talked about.
- Honest conversations: Bold ideas are welcome and so is being told your idea is not one. We would rather have an awkward conversation now than the expensive one later.
- You want a defined role and a clear process. There are few templates and few standing procedures here. You will often be working out the method as you go.
- You want to work directly with people in need. We serve beneficiaries indirectly, through the partner organisations we fund.
- You want to manage a team. No direct reports, no analyst, no coordinator. You will book your own meetings and chase your own follow‑ups.
We appreciate all applications received; however, only shortlisted candidates who have submitted via the designated email will be contacted for the next stage of the selection process.
