Purpose of the Role:
Reporting to the Manager, you will be responsible for the development, planning, and implementation of programmes under the Society’s Reach to Recovery Support Group (for breast cancer survivors) and Bishana Ladies Support Group (for women with other types of cancer).
You will provide administrative support and programme coordination for both support groups, with the aim of fostering meaningful and empowering experiences that enhance the well‑being of patients and survivors.
The role involves close collaboration with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals from public and private hospitals, pharmaceutical companies engaged in patient education, advocacy and support, as well as other non‑profit organisations. In addition, you will contribute to the strategic development of the portfolio to maximise its impact and ensure alignment with the evolving needs of the community.
To thrive in this role, you should embody the following qualities:
- Love people. You will regularly meet new individuals independently and must be comfortable in social situations — at least a functional extrovert.
- Creative adaptation. Working with diverse ground stakeholders can be challenging. You should be resourceful and creative in overcoming constraints to advance SCS’s mission, particularly in enhancing awareness and engagement in cancer survivorship programmes.
- Team player. “If you want to go far, go together.” A collaborative, long‑term mindset is essential for success and satisfaction in this role.
- Administrative resilience. Even if administration is not your strength, you must be able to manage essential administrative work with discipline and purpose, recognising its importance to the greater mission.
- Purpose‑driven and self‑initiated. Non‑profit work is mission‑led. You should personally value efforts to minimise the impact of cancer and enhance the quality of life for patients and their families.
Please note that weekend work may be required. Please note that the role may involve job rotation within the team to support role development, operational requirements, and evolving organisational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute monthly support group talks and activities. Liaise with different speakers and schedule them accordingly. Organise outings and workshops, coordinating all related logistics to ensure smooth execution of each activity.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and address specific patient and survivor needs, including working with the Cancer Rehabilitation Centre to plan and deliver targeted initiatives such as lymphedema management workshops.
- Design simple eDMs, do email blasts and post them on the support group workplace group.
- Participate in various community outreach functions related to support groups.
- Co‑develop strategies to expand the reach of the programme and ensure delivery of programme results within the constraints of schedule, budget and resources.
- Manage and maintain records of members and programme attendance.
- Collaborate with the support group committee to manage and co‑organise meetings, events, and initiatives. Ensure effective communication, address issues, and support the group's goals and objectives.
- Maintain rapport and relationships with support group members to ensure ongoing engagement, foster a sense of community, and encourage active participation in group activities. This involves regular communication, addressing concerns, and providing support to create a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Process vendor and payment administration with the finance department associated with costing.
- Prepare and support monthly statistical reports, annual budget and other relevant reports for submission.
- Other administrative duties include programme scheduling updates, members’ recruitment process, yearly committee listing and any other ad hoc duties assigned by the Manager.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma in a relevant field.
- 1–2 years of experience in community work or programme management (preferred).
- Experience in events management.
- Strong volunteer engagement and management skills.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Passionate about working with older adults, cancer patients, and survivors.

- Enjoys programme development and creating meaningful experiences.
- Proactive, creative, and solution‑oriented.
- Enjoys meeting new people and forming meaningful connections.
- Keen interest in community building and ecosystem development.
- A team player with an adaptable, positive, and collaborative attitude.
