Job summary

FUJIFILM Electronic Materials (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. seeks a Production Supervisor to oversee daily chemical production operations, including distillation and spent recovery, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality output.

You will lead production staff, coordinate schedules with planning and warehouse teams, and ensure regulatory compliance and KPI achievement. You will collaborate with engineers, QA, and maintenance to minimize downtime, optimize costs, and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in production supervision
• Strong knowledge of chemical processes, safety standards, and manufacturing best practices
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field is preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of production operators, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
• Develop and execute production schedules with the production planner
• Coordinate with warehouse for timely issuance of raw materials to production floor
• Oversee daily manufacturing across solvent, acid production, distillation, and remote acid site
• Ensure safe working environment and regulatory compliance, conduct safety audits
• Collaborate with production engineers and QA to resolve quality issues
• Coordinate with maintenance for preventive maintenance and downtime reduction
• Monitor production costs (labour, materials, utilities) and optimize efficiency
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and logistics for cross-functional alignment
• Track KPIs across production, quality, safety, and efficiency
• Engage in ISO compliance and customer audits, close findings
• Support 8D and MOC reports and safety investigations
• Prepare production reports in Excel/Word/PowerPoint for reviews and management reporting
• Support indirect production activities like waste management and small-scale projects
• Perform other duties as assigned by Deputy Plant Manager

Job description

The Production Supervisor is responsible to oversee daily manufacturing operations, focusing on production of chemicals and spent chemical distillation, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production of these products. The role is accountable for meeting production schedules, upholding quality standards, complying with safety and environmental regulations, and leading the development and performance of the production team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leading and supervising a team of production operators, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.

• Work closely with production planner to develop and execute production schedules.

• Work closely with warehouse team to ensure timely and accurate issuance of all raw materials to production shop floor.

• Supervise and coordinate daily manufacturing activities across various production departments within the Plant (Solvent Production, Acid Production, Distillation - spent recovery) and remote Acid production site.

• Ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Implementing and maintaining safety protocols and procedures, conducting regular safety audits, and addressing any identified issues promptly.

• Collaborating with production engineers and quality assurance teams to identify and resolve any quality-related issues.

• Collaborating with the facility & maintenance team for preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshooting equipment problems, and ensuring minimal downtime through effective maintenance strategies.

• Monitoring and managing production operational costs, including labour, materials, and utilities, to optimize efficiency and profitability. Identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing strategies to reduce expenses without compromising quality or safety.

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, procurement, and logistics, to ensure seamless coordination and communication across departments as required.

• Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) across production, quality, safety, and efficiency metrics.

• Engage in ISO compliance and customer audit processes and ensure timely follow-up to close any identified findings.

• Support 8D and MOC report preparation, safety-related investigations, and follow up on assigned action items.

• Responsible for generating production reports in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to support presentations, performance reviews and management reporting.

• Responsible for supporting and managing indirect production activities, such as waste management, packaging and dip-tube cleaning, and the execution of small-scale projects.

• Performs other duties as assigned by Deputy Plant Manager.

Experience, Qualification and other information

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field /or similar discipline is preferred.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in production supervision, preferably in chemical, petrochemical, or related manufacturing industries.

• Strong knowledge of chemical processes, safety standards, and manufacturing best practices

• Candidates with relevant experience in warehousing or logistics may be considered even without the stated academic qualifications.

• Be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Responding to Emergencies in the Workplace.

• Ability to be exposed to various chemicals and compounds including fumes and smells [Hazardous chemicals].
