Job summary

Yamazaki Mazak Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a capable CNC Assembly Supervisor to oversee daily operations, ensure quality, and lead a team of assembly technicians in a fast-paced environment.

You will train staff, address process issues, enforce safety standards, and maintain accurate production records while coordinating with the Production Manager to meet schedules.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in CNC assembly or QC is advantageous.
• 3–5 years in a supervisory role in manufacturing/assembly.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Hands-on CNC assembly, troubleshooting and mechanical assembly.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the CNC machine assembly process.
• Ensure assembly processes meet quality standards, specs and schedules.
• Lead, train and supervise a team of assembly technicians for efficiency and safety.
• Identify and address issues in the assembly process, including delays.
• Monitor performance, provide feedback and manage personnel issues promptly.
• Implement and enforce quality control to detect and correct defects.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of components and machines.
• Enforce safety standards and maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain records of production activities, attendance, downtime, and usage.
• Attend daily meetings; update MOS and chart information accordingly.
• Review checklists and MOS-aligned records for accuracy.
• Organize On-the-Job Training for new staff and cross-training.
• Monitor weekly quality findings; investigate and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain 5S and housekeeping in production area.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the CNC machine assembly process.
• Ensure assembly processes are carried out according to defined quality standards, engineering specifications and production schedules.
• Lead, train and supervise a team of assembly technicians to ensure efficient and safe operation.
• Identify and address issues in the assembly process, including mechanical failures, assembly errors, and delays.
• Monitor employee performance, provide constructive feedback and manage any personnel issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Implement and enforce quality control processes to detect and correct any defects or assembly errors.
• Ensure the correct handling and storage of components and assembled machines to prevent damage or degradation.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety standards and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
• Maintain accurate records of production activities, including employee attendance, machine downtime, material usage and completed work.
• Work with the Production Manager to address any delays or production-related concerns and adjust schedules as needed.
• Attend daily production meetings, provide updates on machine issues, and ensure all relevant information is recorded and updated in the Gantt chart.
• Review daily checklists and manufacturingrecords submitted by technicians, verifying accuracy against MOS specifications and machine tolerances.
• Initiate purchase requisitions for section consumables, tools, and calibration equipment as required.
• Organize and oversee On-the-Job Training (OJT)for new technicians, as well as cross-training initiatives to enhance team competency, ensuring training records are properly maintained.
• Monitor weekly quality findings, conduct investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions to address issues.
• Maintain and continuously improve 5S and housekeeping standards in the production area, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Engineering field is preferred.
• Relevant experience in CNC assembly processes or quality control is advantageous.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in supervisory role in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
• Hands-on experience with CNC machine assembly, troubleshooting and mechanical assembly techniques.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawing, blueprints and assembly instructions.
• Strong understanding of 5S and HSE knowledge.
• Able to work effectively in a fast and ever-changing stressful environment.
• Maintain good Quality standards, 5S and safety discipline.
• Able to use Microsoft office (Excel, Words, Powerpoint and Outlook).
