We are looking for an experienced Assembly Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day assembly operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring product quality, delivery schedules, manpower utilization, and workplace safety are achieved.
The role requires a hands-on leader who can manage production teams, improve manufacturing processes, and work closely with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Logistics and Purchasing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily assembly production activities to meet delivery schedules.
- Plan and allocate manpower, machines, materials and production resources effectively.
- Monitor production output, productivity, efficiency and downtime.
- Lead and supervise production supervisors, team leaders and assembly operators.
- Ensure assembly processes are carried out according to work instructions, SOPs and quality requirements.
- Work closely with the Quality team to identify and resolve quality issues and reduce defects/rework.
- Coordinate with Engineering on new product introduction, process improvements, tooling and technical issues.
- Coordinate with Planning and Logistics to ensure materials and components are available for production.
- Monitor production bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, yield, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Establish and monitor production KPIs for the assembly department.
- Ensure proper implementation of 5S, safety requirements and housekeeping standards.
- Investigate production problems and implement timely solutions.
- Prepare and submit regular production performance reports to management.
- Train, coach and develop production supervisors and operators.
- Manage overtime and manpower requirements according to production needs.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of production activities.
- Support internal and external audits relating to production processes.
- Perform other duties and improvement projects assigned by management.
