Job summary

PPG Industries in Singapore seeks a hands-on Manufacturing Operator to manage the repacking of sealants and CPS products, ensure accurate packing weights, and apply correct GHS labels on FG. You will work under the Production Supervisor, following SOPs and quality standards.

Responsibilities include handling raw materials, operating weighing balances and basic warehouse gear, maintaining daily production targets, and supporting Kaizen and 5S initiatives.

Qualifications

• NITEC, Higher NITEC or Diploma in Chemical Process Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• Computer literate with skills in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Good interpersonal skills – able to work well with all levels
• Self-motivated and able to work independently

• Manufacture finished goods following SOPs and work instructions with precision.
• Meet daily production targets and accommodate overtime when needed.
• Oversee product quality of raw materials and finished goods; identify issues.
• Pack and palletize finished goods, manually and with equipment.
• Support Productivity Improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen) and cross-functional production activities.
• Liaise with production supervisor on schedules and equipment clean‑ups in solvent.

Job description

You will manage the Sealants and CPS repacking activities and quality checks of sealants and CPS products. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will need to ensure the accurate packing weight of Sealants and CPS products. You will need to ensure the correct GHS (Globally Harmonized System) label being used for Finished Goods (FG).

Responsibilities

• Knowledge and adherence to PPG policies with respect to EHS.
• Full compliance with PPG Life Critical Rules and Quality Management System
• Handle raw material, weighing balances and other manufacturing equipment, including basic warehouse handling equipment such as manual pallet truck as part of the manufacturing activities requirement.
• Manufacture finished goods in accordance to work instructions and standard operation procedures (SOP) in an efficient, precise and accurate manner.
• Perform assigned manufacturing tasks to produce high quality products under limited supervision and instruction.
• Perform to meet daily production target and capable of responding to overtime when necessary.
• Act as an oversight for product quality on both raw materials and finished goods and identify any issues that may affect production.
• Perform packing and palletizing of finished goods, both manually and through use of equipment.
• Participate as a core participant in Productivity Improvement Team and practice productivity/process improvement methodologies such as 5S and Kaizen.
• Perform cross-functional production activities when tasked· Liaison with production supervisor with respect to production schedules.
• Have a hands‑on approach on cleaning the equipment in solvent.
• Support production on the changeover of pumps and shot meters.
• Printing labels, creating Work order, generating reports and prepare inter‑site delivery note as required.
