Job summary

PPG Coatings (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support receiving, production handoffs, shipping and inventory control. You will handle unloading, inspection, sampling and locating materials arriving at the plant, ensuring uninterrupted supply to production lines and accurate cycle counting.

You will maintain 5S standards, use QAD/HMM for documentation, and work under minimal supervision with a proactive mindset to learn.

Qualifications

• NITEC or Higher NITEC with minimum 2 years of warehouse/logistics experience in chemicals.
• Valid forklift license preferred and experience with VNA.
• Proficient in entry of goods receipts in online systems (QAD/HMM).

Responsibilities

• Assist Warehouse Supervisor in receiving, production support, shipping and inventory management.
• Unload, inspect, receive, sample and locate ingredients and finished products.
• Maintain continuous supply to production lines and perform cycle counts.
• Record goods receiving in the online system (QAD, HMM) and manage documentation.
• Multitask between packing, picking and receiving while maintaining 5S standards.
• Ensure compliance with EHS policies and uphold housekeeping in warehouse.

Job description

Reporting to Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for all activities involving materials movement and inventory transfer between the warehouse, production, staging area and customer sites. You will support several tasks in the warehouse function including receiving, supporting production, shipping, cycle counting, inventory management and systems.

Key responsibilities

Assist Warehouse Supervisor in Receiving, Production Support, Shipping & Inventory Management

Unload, inspect, receive, sample and locate all ingredients, packing and finished product that arrives at the plant

Ensure continuous supply of ingredients and packaging to production and filling lines

Perform cycle counts, complete reconciliations, monitor inventory transactions, sort out inventory issues as they arise

Complete proper documentation and goods receiving of delivered items to warehouse in the online system (QAD, HMM)

Multitask between packing, picking and receiving tasks

Maintain good housekeeping in warehouse area using Lean system (eg. 5S, FIFO, RCA)

Ensure strict compliance with corporate policies and legal requirements about Environment, Health and Safety (EHS)

Perform any other tasks as assigned

Requirements

NITEC, Higher NITEC with minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse, freight forwarding and logistics in the Chemicals industry

Valid forklift license preferred

Experience operating VNA

Experience in unstuffing pallets, crates and cartons from container

Experience working in a chemical environment handling Class 3 Dangerous Goods and packing for overseas Air Shipment

Basic computer knowledge skills

Able to work under minimal supervision, possesses initiative and willing to learn attitude

Establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of the organization
