Job summary

Chipstone Electronics in Singapore is building a module-packaging operation. As a Production Operator, you will operate packaging, inspection, and testing equipment, handle materials, and ensure quality throughout the process, in a cleanroom setting with ESD controls.

We offer training to work according to defined processes, with 12-hour day/night shifts on a 4-3-4 rotation. Experience in automated production or visual inspection is advantageous; willingness to learn is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience operating automated production equipment or performing visual inspections.
• Ability to follow defined work instructions and safety/quality requirements.
• Willingness to learn module-packaging processes and related equipment.
• Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment and wearing PPE.

Responsibilities

• Operate module-packaging, assembly, inspection and testing equipment per work instructions.
• Load/unload materials; ensure correct materials, tooling and settings.
• Monitor equipment and production conditions during operation.
• Perform basic equipment checks and routine maintenance.
• Identify alarms or abnormal conditions and escalate promptly.
• Record output, rejections, downtime, material usage and inspection results.
• Maintain traceability of lots, batches and materials.
• Perform line clearances and product changeovers to prevent mix-ups.
• Follow 5S, cleanroom, gowning and contamination-control procedures.
• Support trial production and process ramp-up activities.
• Collaborate with Shift Supervisor, Quality, Process and Equipment teams to resolve issues.

Reporting to: Production Shift Supervisor / Team Lead

Work Arrangement: Day/Night 12-hour shifts on 4-3-4 rotation (8am-8pm, 8pm-8am)

About the Role

Chipstone Electronics is building and ramping up a module-packaging operation in Singapore.

As a Production Operator, you will operate production equipment, handle materials and inspect products throughout the manufacturing process. You will be trained to work according to defined process, quality, cleanroom and ESD requirements.

Our operations are closer to semiconductor back-end, smart-card and secure-module manufacturing, and electronics assembly, not front-end wafer fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate module-packaging, assembly, inspection and testing equipment according to approved work instructions.
• Load and unload materials and ensure the correct materials, tooling and production settings are used.
• Monitor equipment and production conditions during operation.
• Perform basic equipment checks, cleaning and routine operator maintenance.
• Identify equipment alarms or abnormal conditions and escalation promptly.
• Conduct visual and in-process inspections according to approved quality standards.
• Identify and separate defective or non-conforming materials and products.
• Record production output, rejection, downtime, material usage and inspection results accurately.
• Maintain lot, batch and material traceability throughout the production process.
• Perform line clearance and product changeovers to prevent material or product mix-ups.
• Handle raw materials, work-in-progress and finished products carefully.
• Follow cleanroom, gowning, ESD and contamination-control requirements.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards at the workstation and production area.
• Support trial production, process validation and production ramp-up activities.
• Work closely with the Shift Supervisor, Quality, Process and Equipment teams to resolve production issues.
• Perform other production-related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Secondary education, NITEC, Higher NITEC or equivalent.
• Experience operating automated production equipment or conducting visual inspection would be an advantage.
• Candidates without direct module-packaging experience may be considered if they have relevant manufacturing experience and are willing to learn.
• Able to follow work instructions, safety procedures and quality requirements carefully.
• Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment and wearing the required protective clothing.
• Able to perform repetitive precision work and detailed visual inspection.
• Able to complete basic production records and system entries accurately.
• Willing and able to work rotating shifts, including night shifts, weekends and public holidays when scheduled.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and attentive to detail.
