About the Role
Join a global semiconductor equipment manufacturer and play a hands-on role in building precision mechanical assemblies for advanced semiconductor equipment. As a Production Technician, you will support the assembly, testing and inspection of complex equipment while ensuring high standards of safety, quality and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble precision mechanical and electromechanical units according to engineering drawings, electrical schematics and manufacturing instructions.
- Perform alignment, calibration and fitting of components and sub-assemblies.
- Inspect parts and completed assemblies for dimensional accuracy, quality and proper finish.
- Conduct basic electrical testing and troubleshooting using tools such as multimeters and amp meters.
- Plan and carry out assembly activities efficiently while meeting production and quality requirements.
- Use hand tools, power tools and precision measurement equipment safely and correctly.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area, including adherence to cleanroom and workplace safety procedures.
- Participate in cross-training, skills development and required technical certifications.
- Support other production-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Diploma, NITEC/Higher NITEC or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in semiconductor manufacturing, equipment assembly, precision engineering or a related manufacturing environment.
- Experience in mechanical assembly, machine testing and/or troubleshooting.
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings, mechanical diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment and on a 12-hour shift arrangement.
- Familiar with the safe use of hand tools, power tools and precision measurement devices.
- Able to carry out role-related physical activities, including handling items of up to 23kg, climbing ladders and kneeling, with reasonable workplace adjustments considered where appropriate.
- Able to distinguish colours where required for the safe identification and handling of electrical components.
- Able to communicate clearly in English to understand technical documentation and collaborate safely with the team.
- Comfortable working around strong magnets during assembly and testing.
