Job summary

Semiconductor Technologies & Instruments Pte Ltd is seeking a Quality Engineer to act as the main liaison among Customer Service, Field Application Engineers, customers and Product Quality Engineering. The role drives cross‑functional teams through 8D problem solving to contain, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

You will work with FAE and CS teams to define problem statements, coordinate with Product Quality Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, software, and other groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a related field and 3–5 years of experience.
• Strong interpersonal and self-management skills.
• Experience with problem solving methods (8D) and root cause analysis.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary interface between Customer Service Engineers (CS), Field Application Engineers (FAE), Customers and Product Quality Engineering teams for product quality and performance-related issues.
• Lead and coordinate the resolution of customer-reported quality issues by driving cross-functional teams through the 8D problem-solving, ensuring timely containment, root cause identification, corrective actions, and closure.
• Work closely with FAE and Customer Service teams to understand field issues, gather accurate information and define clear problem statements for investigation and resolution.
• Coordinate with Product Quality Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Software, Vision and other engineering teams to investigate issues, develop solutions and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Track and manage assigned quality issues, ensuring timely execution, effective communication and successful closure of all action items.
• Monitor product quality performance and provide regular updates on open issues, risks and resolution status.
• Support customer visits, audits, qualifications and escalations.
• Travel locally and overseas to support customer escalations and quality investigations when needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma with minimum of 3-5 years of experience in related field.
• Strong interpersonal and self-management skills.
• Proven background in driving corrective actions (Problem Solving Methods).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and creating customer facing reports.
• Experience in DFMEA, 8D, root cause analysis and data analytics is a plus.
• Ability to work in a multicultural team and with groups located in other regions like: Singapore, Korea, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Europe and US.
• Ability to communicate complex subjects in simple terms
• Overseas travelling when needed
