Job summary

RECRUIT EXPRESS PTE LTD is seeking a Procurement & Materials Specialist to oversee material supply requirements, coordinate with suppliers, and manage delivery issues to keep production on track. You will work across procurement, planning, production and quality to ensure materials are available when needed, maintain accurate data, and optimise inventory levels.

This role requires a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in SCM or related field with at least 3 years of purchasing and planning experience

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant purchasing and planning experience, preferably involving electronic and mechanical components or assemblies.
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for supply tracking and analysis.
• Familiarity with SAP ERP would be advantageous.
• Strong supplier coordination, communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and respond proactively to supply or delivery issues.
• Relevant experience within manufacturing, electronics, engineering, medical technology, biotechnology, or other technical industries will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Review MRP requirements, forecasts, and exception reports and communicate supply requirements and expected delivery schedules to suppliers.
• Track open purchase orders and supplier commitments, following up and expediting deliveries where necessary to minimise the risk of material shortages.
• Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to address quality notifications, engineering changes, supplier returns, goods receipt discrepancies, and invoice-related issues.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, and supply-chain information in relevant systems and ensure data is managed according to established processes.
• Review inventory positions and material requirements to identify opportunities for stock optimisation while avoiding excessive inventory levels.
• Coordinate with production, planning, quality, procurement, and other relevant teams to maintain consistent and timely material availability.
• Monitor potential supply risks and elevate material constraints or delivery concerns to the relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Support day-to-day purchasing and supply planning activities to ensure production requirements are met efficiently.
