Job summary

GMP Technologies in Singapore is seeking a seasoned Procurement Lead to plan, organize, and manage procurement for all assigned projects, including new units and service projects. You will oversee the procurement function to ensure POs and contracts comply with internal policies and are issued promptly, while coordinating with Sales, Service, and HQ Procurement on specs and schedules.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of Procurement experience in power plants or industrial plants.
  • MBA, Economics, or Engineering degree required.
  • Experience working in Sales/Engineering of industrial plant equipment.
  • Experience leading a team to meet deadlines and budget with quality focus.
  • Adept with Singapore import & export control, project taxation.
  • Knowledge of power plant business, key components, and construction process.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and manage the procurement process for all assigned projects.
  • Oversee PO/Contracts signing in compliance with internal policies and timely issuance.
  • Monitor items procured and ensure on-time delivery; manage risks with the team.
  • Perform senior buyer duties; contract administration and expediting.
  • Coordinate with Sales/Service and HQ Procurement on specs, schedule and special requirements.
  • Lead vendor negotiations and discuss terms of procurement agreements.
  • Supervise team, provide guidance and coaching to improve capability.
  • Process improvements and upgrade in quality of work.

Job description

  • Plan, organize and manage the procurement process for allassigned projects, including both new units and service projects.
  • Oversee the procurement function within the firm in ensuring thatall Purchase Orders (PO)/Contracts are signed in compliance tointernal policies and issued in a timely manner.
  • Monitor all the items procured by the team, manage all the itemsare delivered in timely manner, and take necessary measuresinvolving team members and other related parties if any risk hasbeen found.
  • Required hands-on work to perform senior buyer duties as well.
  • During project execution, perform contract administration andexpediting works, including desk and site expediting.
  • Manage/enhance the purchasing process, work with multiplevendors in arranging materials, equipment, spare parts, tools, TAdispatch, manpower supply,equipment testing, logistics for thecustomers
  • Negotiating with vendors, subcontractors, consultancies, logisticscompanies as well as the companyfactories in Japan forpurchases/contractors and lead discussion on the terms andconditions of the procurement agreement.
  • Work closely with Sales/Service team as well as Procurementdepartment in HQ in collaboration on specifications andtechnical requirements of procurement items, schedule, and anyother special requirements for accomplishing of the project.
  • Make a report to superiors and related parties about the risk, signof problems, troubles, delay of the work, feedback or consultationfrom the vendors, and anything else worthwhile to share.
  • Supervise the team members and provide support, guidance, andcoaching to strengthen the capability of the team.
  • Processimprovements, upgrading thequality of work.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of Procurement experience in power plants orindustrial plants.
  • Min. Degree of Business Administration (MBA), Economics, orEngineering.
  • Experience of working in Sales/Engineering of industrial plantsequipment.
  • Experience to manage and lead a team which is responsible to strictlykeep the deadline and budget in addition to put a high priority on thequality.
  • Adept with Singapore import & export control, project taxation.
  • Knowledge of power plant business, key components of the powerplant and other equipment, and plant construction process.
