Job summary

Cariflex Pte. Ltd. is seeking a procurement professional to handle end-to-end sourcing for plant materials, chemicals, MRO, and services in Singapore.

You will run RFQs, evaluate bids, analyze spend data, negotiate pricing and terms, and support final contract setup with the Purchasing Manager. You will screen suppliers, maintain AVL, monitor vendor performance, ensure timely delivery and compliance with ISO/EHS guidelines, and collaborate with Operations, Finance, and HR to optimize procurement

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in SCM or related field.
• 1–4 years procurement experience in manufacturing/chemical environments.
• Hands-on SAP MM for PR/PO execution and inventory tracking.
• Strong organizational skills and proactive delivery expediting.
• Proficiency in Excel/Outlook/Word/PDF.
• Excellent communication with internal teams and external vendors.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Conduct end-to-end sourcing, tender processes (RFQs/bidding), and bid evaluations for plant materials, chemicals, MRO spare parts, non-trade consumables, and service contracts in alignment with the Purchasing Manager.
• Analyze commercial data (spend, market rates) to negotiate optimal pricing, discounts, payment terms, delivery schedules, and SLAs, supporting final contract set-up and award recommendations.
• Execute purchasing processes for BOM (Direct) and non-BOM (Indirect) materials and services in strict compliance with company procurement policies.
• Screen new suppliers, maintain the Approved Vendor List (AVL) in accordance with ISO/safety standards, evaluate vendor performance, and resolve contract disputes, price amendments, or scope variations.
• Ensure correct receipt of materials through effective checking of items, tax classification in accordance with materials and legislation, and timely availability to internal customers.
• Ensure all purchasing practices strictly comply with internal procurement policies, Singapore customs/trade regulations, and Safety (EHS) guidelines.
• Proactively manages relationships with key service providers, raw material suppliers, and internal cross-functional teams (Operations, Finance, Commercial, HR).

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• 1 to 4 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably within manufacturing, chemical, oil & gas, or engineering plant environments (fresh graduates with relevant supply chain internship experience may be considered for junior entry).
• Hands-on experience or functional familiarity with SAP (MM module) for handling PR/PO execution, vendor line items, and inventory tracking.
• Strong organizational skills with a proactive attitude toward expediting deliveries and keeping track of open POs.
• Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word and PDF.
• Excellent communication skills to interface confidently with internal teams (Plant Operations, Warehouse, Finance) and external vendors.
